CAUTION: When battery is disconnected or modules are replaced, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: When instrument cluster is replaced, Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) system must be reconfigured. For programming and reconfiguring procedures, see COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
NOTE: Before beginning system tests, perform TROUBLE SHOOTING  .
NOTE: Test procedures are written specifically for New Generation Star (NGS) tester. Generic scan tools may not have the capability of performing all the same functions. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE: After repairs are complete, ensure all components are properly installed and all harness connectors are connected properly. Repeat data link diagnostic test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - LS article.
