Test Ab: Message Center Not Operating Properly

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select Message Center Module (MCM) active command MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAY CHARACTER. Trigger SEGMENTS ON, then OFF. All message center segments should illuminate when triggered ON and should not illuminate when triggered OFF. If message center segments do not operate as specified, replace instrument cluster. If message center segments operate as specified, system is okay at this time. If an individual message center switch is not operating properly, perform TEST AC: MESSAGE CENTER SWITCH NOT OPERATING PROPERLY  .
