Test R: Turn/Hazard Indicator Never/Always On

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate turn signals in both directions. Operate hazard lights. If turn signal and hazard lights operate properly, go to next step. If turn signal and hazard lights do not operate properly, repair turn signal system concern. See AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS - LS article.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select instrument cluster active command WARNING LAMPS AND CHIMES. Trigger ALL LAMPS ON, then OFF. Turn signal indicators should illuminate when triggered ON and should not illuminate when triggered OFF. If turn signal indicators operate as specified, repair turn signal system concern. See AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS - LS article. If turn signal indicators do not operate as specified, replace instrument cluster.
