Test As: All LEDS Or Incandescent Lights Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn headlights on. If power window, power door lock and memory switches do not illuminate, go to next step. If power window, power door lock and memory switches illuminate, go to step 5 .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Front Electronic Module (FEM) harness connector C201e. Using a fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to terminal No. 1 (Blue wire) at FEM harness connector C201e. See Figure . If power window, power door lock and memory switches do not illuminate, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If power window, power door lock and memory switches illuminate, replace FEM.
- Disconnect Auxiliary Junction Box (AJB) harness connector C283a. Measure resistance in Blue wire between terminal No. 1 at FEM harness connector C201e and terminal No. 9 at AJB harness connector C283a. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Blue wire) at FEM harness connector C201e. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistances are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance is not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Blue wire between FEM and AJB.
- Check Orange/Yellow wire between AJB, and power window, power door lock and memory switches for opens and shorts. Check Black wire between ground, and power window, power door lock and memory switches for opens and shorts. If problem exists, repair wiring as necessary. If problem does not exist, replace AJB.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Front Electronic Module (FEM) harness connector C201f. Using a fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to terminal No. 11 (Blue/Red wire) at FEM harness connector C201f. See Figure . Instrument cluster and message center lights should illuminate. Steering wheel switches (if equipped), main light switch, panel dimmer switch, mirror switch and message center switch lights should illuminate. If all lights do not illuminate, remove jumper wire and go to next step. If all lights illuminate, remove jumper wire and replace FEM.
- Disconnect joint connector No. 3 harness connector C224. Measure resistance in Blue/Red wire between terminal No. 11 at FEM harness connector C201f and terminal No. 13 at joint connector No. 3 harness connector C224. See Figure and Figure . Resistance should be 5 ohms or less. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 11 (Blue/Red wire) at FEM harness connector C201f. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If both resistances are as specified, go to next step. If either resistance is not as specified, repair open or short to ground in Blue/Red wire between FEM and joint connector No. 3.
- Check wiring between joint connector No. 3, and instrument cluster, message center, steering wheel switches (if equipped), main light switch, panel dimmer switch, mirror switch and message center switch for opens and shorts. Check Black wire between ground, and instrument cluster, message center, steering wheel switches (if equipped), main light switch, panel dimmer switch, mirror switch and message center switch for opens and shorts. If problem exists, repair wiring as necessary. If problem does not exist, replace joint connector No. 3.
