Test Ai: Data Status Message Displayed For Door Ajar
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, retrieve and record continuous Front Electronic Module (FEM) and Rear Electronic Module (REM) DTCs. Clear FEM and REM DTCs. Using NGS tester, perform FEM and REM self-test. If no FEM and REM DTCs are not retrieved, go to next step. If any FEM and/or REM DTCs are retrieved, repair code related problems. - Using NGS tester, select Message Center Module (MCM) active command MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAY CHARACTER. Trigger SEGMENTS ON, then OFF. All message center segments should illuminate when triggered ON and should not illuminate when triggered OFF. If message center segments do not operate as specified, replace instrument cluster. If message center segments operate as specified, repair door ajar circuits as necessary. See AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS - LS article.
