Install engine

- Position the lifting table (1) with the engine under the vehicle.
The marks made during removal (arrows) on the workshop floor are used as positioning aid.
WARNING: Vehicle may slip off the vehicle hoist if the vehicle hoist is handled incorrectly .
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!- Observe safety instructions on raising the vehicle using a vehicle hoist.

- Lower the vehicle carefully and if necessary, correct the positioning of the lifting table.
- Replace screws (1).

Transmission mounting M10
Replace screws.Joining torque 40 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Replace screws (1).

Right engine mount to cylinder head M10
Replace screws.Joining torque 40 Nm Angle of rotation 90° WARNING: Car may slip off the vehicle hoist if the weight is distributed unevenly .
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!- Ensure there is a specific weight compensation on the car.
- Take weight compensation (1) off of vehicle.
- Lower the lifting table (2) and set aside.
- Insert and install the ground strap (2).
- Tighten down screw (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Ground strap to transmission M8 tightening torque 19 Nm - Connect the vacuum line (2) and lock.
- Ensure that locks (1) engage audibly.
- Insert the coolant line (1) in the holder (3) and install it.
- Insert the coolant line (1) in the auxiliary coolant pump (2) and lock it.
Make sure that the coolant line (1) engages audibly.
- Feed in the wiring harness section (3) and position.
- Secure clamps (2).
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
- Slide out and remove the battery tray (4).
- Insert and install the coolant line (2) on the battery tray (4).
- Secure clamps (1).
- Tighten down screws (3).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Battery tray M8 tightening torque 19 Nm - Insert and install the battery positive terminal (2) and auxiliary terminal for jump starting (3).
- Tighten nuts (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Positive battery cable to positive battery terminal M8 Tightening torque 15 Nm - Feed in and install coolant line (1).
- Make sure that the coolant line (1) engages audibly.
- Connect and lock coolant line (1).
- Make sure that the coolant line (1) engages audibly.
- Connect and lock coolant line (2).
- Make sure that the coolant line (2) engages audibly.
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
- Replace seals (1).
- Connect transmission oil lines (2).
- Tighten the bolt (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Transmission oil line to transmission M 8 tightening torque 19 Nm - Guide out and remove special tools 0 496 565 (13 5 160) and 0 496 568 (13 5 162)
.
- Insert and install the tank vent line (4).
- Make sure that the lock (3) snaps in audibly.
- Guide the fuel delivery line (2) in and install.
- Make sure that the lock (1) snaps in audibly.
- Connect and lock coolant line (1).
- Make sure that the coolant line (1) engages audibly.
- Use standard tools to guide out and remove the coolant lines (2) and air conditioning compressor.
- Replace sealing ring (1).

- Insert and install the sealing ring (1) on the refrigerant line (2).
- Insert and install the coolant lines (3).
- Tighten down screws (2).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Refrigerant lines to air-conditioning compressor M8
Replace sealing rings.Tightening torque 19 Nm - Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
- Open the weld seam (1) with a conventional tool.
- Remove ribbon clamp (2).
- Replace the (2) ribbon clamp.
Parts: Ribbon cable clamp
- Tighten the ribbon clamp (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
