Securing the steering shaft at the bottom on the steering gear

Clean the screw thread in the universal joint (2) from the residues of screw locking agent.
Swivel the universal joint (2) in the arrow direction to the steering gear.
Replace the screw (1) .
Parts: Screw

Tighten down screw (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Lower steering shaft to steering gear
M10 Clean screw thread and remove remains of screw locking agent. Replace screw.	Tightening torque	28 Nm

NOTE: The following step (s) must be performed if the listed component (s) is/are installed.

Position the cover (2) on the steering column.
Tighten nuts (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Steering column cover panel to firewall
Plastic nut	Tightening torque	3 Nm
