  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

  Check     
1 Check delivery condition of 2nd generation DTCO (7). IMPORTANT The serial number and information regarding the manufacturer and device type on the identification plate must match the information on the delivery note.
IMPORTANT The lead seal of the 2nd generation DTCO (7) and the lead seal (8) of the battery compartment (9) must be intact.
If the lead seal of the 2nd generation DTCO (7) or the lead seal (8) of the battery compartment (9) is damaged,

order a new 2nd generation DTCO (7). Return damaged 2nd generation DTCO (7).
 
REMOVING Remove     
2.1 Remove driver seat. Model 907 except code SR8 (Driver's seat rotating frame)  
REMOVING     AR91.10-D-1000TS
2.2 Remove turn plate with installed driver's seat. Model 907 with code SR8 (Driver's seat rotating frame)  
REMOVING   IMPORTANT Do not separate driver's seat from turn plate. AR91.10-D-1456TS
3 Remove seat base cover from driver's seat. Model 907  
4 Remove control unit holder (51). Model 907
If control unit holder (51) is installed.
IMPORTANT To do so, remove nut (52).
Position control unit holder (51) so that ground points are accessible.
The number of control units varies depending on the vehicle equipment. If control units are installed in control unit holder (51):

Unclip control units.
IMPORTANT Do not disconnect plugs of control units.
 
5 Remove front passenger side fuse and relay module.    
IMPORTANT   IMPORTANT Do not disconnect relays, fuses and plugs of fuse and relay module. AR54.15-D-0004TS
6 Remove front floor coverings.    
IMPORTANT   Model 907 AR68.80-D-0006TSR
IMPORTANT      
7 Remove trim from left of instrument panel.    
IMPORTANT   IMPORTANT Do not remove defroster vent. AR83.10-D-4719TS
8 Remove A-pillar trim at bottom right.    
IMPORTANT   Model 907 AR68.30-D-0012TSR
IMPORTANT      
9 Remove cover (10). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment)  
10 Fold seat cushion padding forward. Model 907 with code S23 (Front passenger bench seat)  
11.1 Remove air duct (12). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment) except code S23 (Front passenger bench seat)
IMPORTANT For this purpose, remove nuts (11).
 
11.2 Remove air ducts (12, 13). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment) and code S23 (Front passenger bench seat)
IMPORTANT For this purpose, remove nuts (11).
 
12 Remove air duct (15). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment)  
13 Remove cable duct (17). Model 907  
    IMPORTANT To do so, remove nuts (16). S M6 *BA00.10-N-1002-01A 
14 Remove battery cover (19). Model 907
IMPORTANT To do so, remove screws (18).
 
15 Release seat base (14) of front passenger bench seat. Model 907  
IMPORTANT     AR91.10-D-3523TS
16 Release cover (20). Model 907
IMPORTANT Release cover (20) using a suitable screwdriver (arrows).
IMPORTANT Release cover (20) until wiring harness can be routed.
 
17 Remove instrument cluster.    
IMPORTANT     AR54.30-D-6016TS
18 Remove A-pillar trims at top.    
IMPORTANT     AR68.30-D-4051TS
19 Remove cover (2). Model 907 with code FF8 (1 device installation frame at front under roof lining)
IMPORTANT Cover (2) is no longer required and must be handed over to the customer or disposed of properly following consultation with the customer.
 
20 Remove front overhead control panel.

21 Unclip covers (3, 4).    
22 Remove front roof lining. Model 907 except code FF8 (1 -DIN slot at front under headliner)

INSTALLING Install     
23 Retrofit antenna for 2nd generation DTCO (7).   AN54.61-D-2002-01TS 
    Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
24 Retrofit wiring harness for 2nd generation DTCO (7). Model 907 AN54.61-D-2002-03TS

26 Raise vehicle.

28 Install rotational speed sensor for 2nd generation DTCO (7). Model 907 AN54.61-D-2002-02TS 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, tachograph rotational speed sensor to transmission housing *BA54.61-N-1001-01TS 
    Long-life grease *BR00.45-Z-1001-06A 
29 Lower vehicle.    
WARNING Warning Risk of injury  caused by slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and by splinters when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS65.00-Z-0003-01A
CAUTION Caution Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
30 Prepare roof lining and retrofit holder. Deburr repair panels.
Model 907 except code FF8 (1 -DIN slot at front under headliner)
 
    IMPORTANT Do not yet install device installation frame (5). AN54.61-D-2003-01TS 
    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Oscillation saw
Blind rivet nut pliers
 
31 Install front roof lining. Model 907 except code FF8 (1 -DIN slot at front under headliner)  
32 Retrsofit device installation frame (22) in roof lining at front. Model 907 except code FF8 (1 -DIN slot at front under headliner) AN54.61-D-2003-01TS 
33 Install device installation frame (5). IMPORTANT To do so, insert the device installation frame (5) into the frame (23) and bend over the shackles (arrows) until the device installation frame (5) can no longer be moved.  
34 Subsequently connect and install 2nd generation DTCO (7). If the buffer battery is not OK or the manufacturing date (21) is older than 12 months,

replace buffer battery.

IMPORTANT   Remove/install backup battery for digital tachograph AR54.61-D-0009TS
    NOTES
When replacing the buffer battery, the power supply from the vehicle must be guaranteed. Otherwise, it is not possible to commission th 2nd generation DTCO (1).
 
35 Install front overhead control panel.    
NOTES     AR82.20-D-1100TS
36 Clip in covers (3, 4).    
  Install A-pillar trims at top.    
NOTES     AR68.30-D-4051TS
38 Install instrument cluster.    
      AR54.30-D-6016TS
39 Attach fuse and relay module on passenger side.

40 Install trim on left of instrument panel.    
NOTES   IMPORTANT Do not remove defroster vent. AR83.10-D-4719TS
41 Install A-pillar trim at bottom right.

42 Attach cover (20). Model 907  
43 Attach seat base (14) of front passenger bench seat. Model 907 with code S23 (Front passenger bench seat)  
44 Install battery cover (19). Model 907
IMPORTANT To do so, tighten the screws (18).
 
45 Install cable duct (17). Model 907  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6 *BA00.10-N-1002-01A 
46 Install air duct (15). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment)  
47.1 Install air ducts (12, 13). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment) and code S23 (Front passenger bench seat)

48 Fold back seat cushion padding and latch into place. Model 907 with code S23 (Front passenger bench seat)  
49 Install cover (10). Model 907.6/7 with code H00 (Hot air duct to passenger compartment)  
50 Install front floor coverings.

51 Attach control unit holder (51). NOTES
Do not kink subharness during installation of control unit holder (51) and ensure that it is routed free of chafing.
This prevents damage.
IMPORTANT To do so, attach nut (52).
The number of control units varies depending on the vehicle equipment.

If control units are installed in control unit holder (51):

Clip in control units.

52 Install seat base cover of driver's seat. Model 907  
53.1 Install driver seat. Model 907 except code SR8 (Driver's seat rotating frame)

54 Enter special equipment into online vehicle data card. IMPORTANT Designation of affected special equipment code JD6 (EU intelligent tachograph) and code H1B (Tachograph controls at front under headliner).
IMPORTANT Remove existing code FF8 (1-DIN slot at front under headliner).
IMPORTANT Attach note "Digital tachograph retrofitted as per AN54.61-D-2003TS " under field organization texts to KG54.
 
55 Enter note in online vehicle data card. IMPORTANT Attach note "Info on diagnosis with retrofitted digital tachograph: different ground point (MWH cockpit ground point (W1/4)) usee for standard equipment" under field organization texts to KG54.  
56 Carry out SCN coding on electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS).    
IMPORTANT   IMPORTANT Do not yet remove vehicle diagnosis system. AR54.21-D-0015TS
57 Carry out SCN coding on instrument cluster (IC) control unit.    
IMPORTANT     AR54.21-D-0015TS
58 Tachograph inspection to be carried out by authorized personnel. IMPORTANT When doing so, observe operator's manual included with 2nd generation DTCO (7).
IMPORTANT Observe national legal requirements for tachograph testing. In the Federal Republic of Germany, perform the tachograph inspection as per Art. 57b of the German Regulations Authorizing the Use of Vehicles for Road Traffic (StVZO).
 
59 Add variable product data (VPD) in Vehicle Documentation System (VeDoc). IMPORTANT Enter new serial number of 2nd generation DTCO (7), rotational speed sensor and lead seal of rotational speed sensor by means of unique VPD ID.
Write permissions are required to add the VPD ID.

60.1 Install underbody paneling. Model 907 with code XM1 (Noise abatement measures)
