  1. Route electric lines (2) and antenna line (3) outward as shown.

IMPORTANT This makes it easier to connect the electric lines (2) and antenna line (3).

  2. Connect electric lines (2) and antenna line (3) to 2nd generation digital tachograph (DTCO) (1).

  3. Check buffer battery of 2nd generation DTCO (1).

IMPORTANT The manufacturing date (10) of the buffer battery is determined using information on the Model plate of the 2nd generation DTCO (1). The manufacturing date (10) is coded as follows:

"A to M" for the month of manufacture "January to December" and "YY" for the year of manufacture, e.g. "B18" for month of manufacture and year "February 2018".

The manufacturing date (10) of the 2nd generation DTCO (1) must not be older than 12 months.

If the manufacturing date (10) is older than 12 months,

    replace buffer battery.

NOTES When replacing the buffer battery, the power supply from the vehicle must be guaranteed. Otherwise, it is not possible to commission the 2nd generation DTCO (1).

IMPORTANT When the buffer battery is removed, the lead seal (8) on the battery compartment (9) is destroyed and must be replaced.

  4. Install 2nd generation DTCO (1) into device installation frame (4).

NOTES Make sure that the electric lines (2), antenna line (3) or component parts are not damaged when inserting the 2nd generation DTCO (1).

Otherwise, this can lead to 2nd generation DTCO (1) malfunctions, among other things.

IMPORTANT Insert 2nd generation DTCO (1) far enough until it engages audibly.
