Removal [10/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts and screws relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabetic code in the table below.

  2. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM SETTINGS (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 

    Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [10/2018 - ]

  3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL SWITCH HOUSING 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

  4. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [10/2018 - 10/2020] Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [10/2020 - 07/2022]

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22 [10/2018 - 10/2020] Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22 [10/2020 - 07/2022]

  8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH from the area shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Using a molding remover A, disengage the clips and guides to remove the instrument side panel LH as shown in the illustration.

  11. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw and guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER 
    1. Disengage the claws and hook to remove the lower instrument cover as shown in the illustration.

  13. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw<D>.

    2. Remove the bolt<G>.
    3. Disengage the clips to remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
    4. Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    5. Using a clip remover, disengage the wire harness clamp.
  14. REMOVE SPARE SWITCH HOLE COVER (w/o Combination Switch) 
    1. Disengage the claws to remove the spare switch hole cover.

  15. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Combination Switch) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  16. REMOVE FUEL LID OPENER SWITCH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  17. REMOVE FRONT LOWER PANEL BRACKET 
    1. Remove the screw<D>.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the front lower panel bracket.
  18. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  19. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  20. REMOVE COOLER THERMISTOR (ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH 
    1. Using a molding remover A, disengage the clips, claws and guides to remove the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  23. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips and guides to remove the meter hood sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the clips and claws to remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
  27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CUSHION

    4. Using a clip remover, disengage the wire harness clamp.
  32. REMOVE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  34. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

  35. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. for 10.3 Inch Display:
      1. Disengage the clips to remove the upper instrument cluster finish panel as shown in the illustration.

    1. Disengage the clips and guides to remove the upper instrument center cluster finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  37. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  38. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Pull up the front pillar garnish assembly LH to disengage the front pillar garnish clip and clip as shown in the illustration.

      Pull up
    2. Push the release lever and separate the front pillar garnish clip from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      Push
      NOTE:

      If the front pillar garnish clip has significant damage, replace it with a new one.

    3. When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be removed using your fingers:

      Lift in this Direction
      1. While pressing the part shown in the illustration with your finger, move the front pillar garnish clip in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
      2. While pulling the front pillar garnish clip in the direction indicated by the arrow, push the part shown in the illustration with the end of a screwdriver and remove the front pillar garnish clip.

        NOTE:

        If the front pillar garnish clip has significant damage, replace it with a new one.

    4. Disengage the guides to remove the front pillar garnish assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

      *a Protective Cover
      Adhesive Tape
      1. Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish assembly LH is removed.

  39. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  40. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips, claws and guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  41. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly side.

  42. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both front No. 2 speaker assemblies.

  43. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a molding remover A, disengage the clips and claws to remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly as shown in the illustration.

  44. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  45. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 clips.

      *a Slider *b Airbag Bolt
      *c Ground Bolt - -
    2. Remove the 2 bolts<E>, 2 bolts<F> and bolt<H> as shown in the illustration.
    3. Remove the 5 screws<A> or <B> as shown in the illustration.
    4. Disconnect the 4 connectors.
    5. Using a clip remover, disengage the wire harness clamps.
    6. Slide the slider to disconnect the airbag connector.
    7. Disengage the guides to remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.
