REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove left door sill moldings    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-P-4100EW
2 Remove A-pillar paneling at bottom left    
3 Remove cover below left of instrument panel    
4 Remove center console (2)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.20-P-2000EW
5 Remove accelerator pedal    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR30.12-P-1321EW
6 Remove screws/bolts at the rear of the driver seat    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR91.10-P-1000CW
7 Remove screws/bolts at the front of the driver seat    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR91.10-P-1000CW
8 Release and remove covers at the front of the driver seat guide rails    
9 Remove left front floor covering IMPORTANT Observe routing of accelerator pedal wiring harness.  
10 Fix driver seat in place using a screw/bolt at the front    
11 Remove radio, radio with auto pilot system or COMAND controller unit

12 Remove left paneling next to rear seat

14 Remove headliner    
15.1 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and place to one side with connected electrical connectors MODEL 212.2## (except 212.274/277/292/298) 1# as of 01.06.10 as of model year. 2011

IMPORTANT The removal of the multifunction antenna mock-up is performed in the same manner as the removal of the multifunction antenna. The multifunction antenna mock-up is no longer required.

22 Install remaining parts    
  Update Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc)     
23 Enter special equipment into the online vehicle data card IMPORTANT Code 386 (Comfort telephony)  
24 Attach the note "Comfort telephony retrofitted as per AN82.70-P-0008ES " under field organization texts to design group 82    
25 Connect diagnostic system and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)

26 Carry out variant coding using software calibration number (SCN) IMPORTANT "Instrument cluster" Available audio component, e.g. "Radio"  
27 Disconnect diagnostic system

28 Perform function test of comfort telephony
