Remove/install front seat - AR91.10-P-1000CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbags and RTE units   AH91.00-P-0002-01M

1 Move head restraint down    
2 Move front seat (1) forward and fully upwards    
3 Unclip belt end fitting cover (2) at outer panel (3) MODEL 204.0/2/9, 212, 218  
4 Remove bolt (9) from belt end fitting (8) MODEL 204.0/2/9, 212, 218  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION
MODEL 204.0/2/9		 *BA91.40-P-1003-01P 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION
MODEL 212.0/1/2, 218.3/9		 *BA91.40-P-1005-01Q 
5 Remove belt end fitting (8) MODEL 204.0/2/9, 212, 218  
6 Remove bolts (6, 7) from seat rails TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, seat to vehicle floor *BA91.10-P-1002-01Q 
7.1 Move front seat (1) and front seat backrest to rear MODEL 204.0/2/9, 212, 218
IMPORTANT The front seat (1) is removed from the vehicle through the door cutout for the rear door.		  
7.2 Position front seat (1) to rear MODEL 204.3, 207  
8 Remove bolts (4, 5) from seat rails TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, seat to vehicle floor *BA91.10-P-1002-01Q 
9 Disconnect ground line for on-board electrical system battery (G1) MODEL 204 AR54.10-P-0003CW
MODEL 207, 212, 218 AR54.10-P-0003EW
10 Tilt back front seat (1)    
11 Disconnect electrical connectors from bottom of front seat (1) IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors depends on the equipment installed.  
12 Disconnect pneumatic line from bottom of front seat (1) MODEL 204.0/2/9, 207, 212, 218
with CODE 409 (Left/right front multicontour seat)
MODEL 212
with CODE 432 (Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)
MODEL 218
with CODE 432 (Active multicontour seat)

13.1 Cover up center console, rear seat cushion and door sill MODEL 204.0/2/9, 212, 218  
13.2 Cover up center console and door sill MODEL 204.3, 207  
14.1 Remove the front seat (1) from the vehicle through the door cutout for the rear door MODEL 204.0/2/9, 212, 218
NOTES Carefully remove front seat (1) from vehicle. Otherwise components in vehicle interior or at rear door will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that lock pins of seat rails are seated correctly in vehicle floor.		  
14.2 Remove front seat (1) from vehicle MODEL 204.3, 207
NOTES Carefully remove front seat (1) from vehicle. Otherwise components in vehicle interior will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that lock pins of seat rails are seated correctly in vehicle floor.		  
15 Release covers on seat rails and remove    
16 Put down front seat (1) and secure it against tipping over    
17 Install in the reverse order
