Roof Headlining: Removal

  1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat) 
  2. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Power Seat) (See Step 2 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  3. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Power Seat) 
  4. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Power Seat) (See Step 4 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Power Seat) 
  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat) (See Step 6 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  7. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Power Seat) 
  8. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER RH (for Power Seat) 
  9. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH (for Power Seat)

  12. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (for Manual Seat) 
    CAUTION:

    Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from deploying (See  PRECAUTION  ). 

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat) 
  14. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Manual Seat) (See Step 3 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  15. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER LH (for Manual Seat) (See Step 4 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  16. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER LH (for Manual Seat) (See Step 5 in  REMOVAL  )

  47. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic) (See Step 12 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  48. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Telescopic) (See Step 12 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  49. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See Step 13 in  REMOVAL  ) 
  50. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination) 
    1. Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.
    2. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

    3. Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

    1. Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.
    2. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

    3. Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.
    4. Disconnect the connector.

    1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover LH.

  56. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
    2. Cut off the clip <A>.
    3. Disengage the claw and remove the front pillar garnish LH.
    4. Remove the clip <A> from the vehicle body.

    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
      1. Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in Fig 7 .
        NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

    1. Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate.
    2. Using a molding remover, disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the rear door scuff plate LH.

  105. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.

    2. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the center pillar garnish LH by pulling it down.

    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Using a molding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
    4. Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.
  119. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.

    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Using a molding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
    4. Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.
  120. REMOVE SPOT LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 2 clips.
    2. Disconnect the connector. Remove the spot light assembly.

  121. REMOVE COAT HOOK 
    1. Remove the screw and coat hook.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the hook on the other side.

  122. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.

  123. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER 
    1. Using a molding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.

    1. Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the holder on the other side.

    1. Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage the each clamp from the front pillar LH.
    2. Disconnect each connector from the map light assembly.

    3. Disengage the hook, 10 claws and 2 clips.

    4. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front right door.

  128. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof) 
    1. Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.
    2. Disconnect each connector from the map light assembly.

    3. Disengage the hook, 10 claws, 8 fasteners and 2 clips.

    4. Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front right door.

    1. Disengage the claw <A> and separate the bulb holder from the vanity light.
    2. Disengage the claw <B> and remove the vanity light assembly.

      HINT:

      Use the same procedure to remove the light on the other side.

  134. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF WIRE 
    1. Remove the double-sided tape and roof wire.
