System Tests: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Disconnect negative battery cable before disconnecting GEM connectors, failure to do so can result in GEM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM after repairs.
NOTE: If concern is that indicator never illuminates, check bulb before performing system tests. See USING HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. This will command all instrument cluster bulbs and LEDs to illuminate.
