Test S: Air Suspension Indicator Is Never/Always On

- Turn ignition switch to ON position. If air suspension indicator is always on, go to ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION article in SUSPENSION. If air suspension indicator is never on, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect air suspension control module harness connector C2131a. Connect a fused jumper wire (10-amp) between harness connector C2131a terminal No. 12 (Dark Green/Light Green wire) and ground. See Fig 1. If air suspension indicator illuminates, go step 5. If air suspension indicator does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C220a. Measure resistance between harness connector C220a terminal No. 5 and harness connector C2131a terminal No. 12 (both Dark Green/Light Green wire). See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green/Light Green wire and test system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between instrument cluster harness connector C220a terminal No. 5 (Dark Green/Light Green wire) and ground. See Figure. If any voltage is present, repair short to power in Dark Green/Light Green wire and test system operation. If no voltage is present, go to step 6.
- Disconnect all air suspension control module harness connectors. Inspect harness connectors for corrosion and pushed out pins. Reconnect all air suspension control module harness connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system and verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace air suspension control module. See ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION article in SUSPENSION . If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and perform self-test.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect harness connectors for corrosion and pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system and verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and perform self-test.
