Removal [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [12/2021 - ]
  2. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  3. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  5. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 
    1. w/ Cool Box:

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

    2. w/o Cool Box:

      Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction (1) Remove in this Direction (2)
      1. Remove the 2 screws <A>.
      2. Detach the claw and pull in the removal direction (1) as shown in the illustration.
      3. Pull in the removal direction (2) as shown in the illustration to detach the guide and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
      4. Detach the clamp.
      5. Disconnect the connector.
      6. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, detach the claw and disconnect the DLC3.

        HINT: 

        Tape the thin-bladed screwdriver tip before use.

      1. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the 2 assist grip plugs.

        HINT: 

        • Tape the thin-bladed screwdriver tip before use.
        • Use the same procedure described for the opposite side.

  28. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove in this Direction (2) Adhesive Tape
      1. Pull in the removal direction (1) as shown in the illustration and detach the clip.
      2. Pull in the removal direction (2) as shown in the illustration and detach the claw and guide and remove the front pillar garnish assembly LH.
      3. Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover, such as a cloth, and secure the edges of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.
        WARNING:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish assembly LH is removed.

      1. Using moulding remover D, detach the claw as shown in the illustration.
      2. Place your hand in the gap as shown in the illustration and detach the claw and remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly.
      3. Disconnect the connector.

      1. Apply the protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      1. Using moulding remover B, detach the guide as shown in the illustration.
      2. Detach the claw as shown in the illustration.
      3. Using moulding remover B, detach the claw and guide and remove the stereo player finish panel as shown in the illustration.
  34. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY WITH SWITCH

  35. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING PANEL ASSEMBLY

  36. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

  37. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Insert moulding remover B in the position shown in the illustration.
      2. Place your hand in the gap as shown in the illustration.
      3. Pull in the removal direction (1) as shown in the illustration and detach the claw.
      4. Pull in the removal direction (2) as shown in the illustration, detach the guide and remove the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish.
      5. Disconnect the connector.
  39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL END (w/ Headup Display)

      1. Insert moulding remover B in the position shown in the illustration.
      2. Place your hand in the gap as shown in the illustration, detach the claw.
      3. Detach the guide and remove the instrument cluster finish panel end as shown in the illustration.
  40. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for Side) 
    HINT: 
    Use the same procedure for the LH and RH Side.

  41. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for Center)

      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Detach the clamp.
      3. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, detach the clamp.

        HINT: 

        Tape the thin-bladed screwdriver tip before use.

      4. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, detach the claw and disconnect the wire harness.

      Connector Airbag Connector
      1. Disconnect each connector.
      2. Disconnect the airbag connector.

        HINT: 

        Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector:

        Refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [12/2021 - ]

      3. Detach the clamp.
      4. Detach the guide.

      1. Remove the 10 bolts <C>.
      2. Remove the nut <E>.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts <D>.
      4. Remove the 2 clips.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Detach the guide as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly or vehicle interior.
        • Make sure that the wire harness does not get caught on anything as it may become damaged.

      1. Remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad assembly or vehicle interior.
        • Make sure that the wire harness does not get caught on anything as it may become damaged.
