Removal [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE SHIFTING HOLE BEZEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Before disconnecting the transmission control cable assembly, check that the shift lever is in N.

      *a Clip *b 45° to 60°
      *c Lock Piece *d Adjuster Case
      Pull Up - -
      1. Detach the clamp.
      2. Remove the 2 screws and the No. 2 console box retainer from the rear console box sub-assembly.
      3. Using 2 screwdrivers, pull up the lock piece from the adjuster case.
      4. While disengaging the clip as shown in the illustration, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the floor shift lever assembly together with the clip.

      Pull Out Remove in this Direction
      Rotate approximately 180° - -
      1. Pull out the cable locks of the transmission control cable assembly.
      2. Rotate the lock nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the lock nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the floor shift assembly.
        NOTE:

        Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.

  4. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Do not drop or impact the floor shift lever assembly.
