Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - ] )

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - ] ).

  2. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  6. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  7. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - 10/2015] Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] )

  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 18 clips and 2 guides.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly.
  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    See step  4 See step  4

  10. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  5 See step  5

  11. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

  12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws and clip as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the instrument side panel LH as shown in the illustration.

  13. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt <B> and screw <D>.

    2. Disengage the 8 clips and 5 claws.

    3. Disconnect each connector and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel sub-assembly.
  15. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 8 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly.

  16. DISCONNECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Illumination) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Illumination) 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument panel stay sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (w/o Illumination) 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  20. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (w/ Illumination) 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

  21. REMOVE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Illumination) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  22. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Radio and Display Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  23. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (for Navigation Receiver Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  24. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  25. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    See step  7 See step  7

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  27. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  28. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.

  29. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  30. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH 
    1. Pull the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) to disengage the 10 clips.

    2. Pull the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) to disengage the 10 guides.
    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish.
  31. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  32. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (except 8 Speakers) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  33. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides.

    2. Disconnect each connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the instrument side panel RH as shown in the illustration.

  35. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT PLATE 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the glove compartment plate.

  36. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  37. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 5 screws <D>.

  38. REMOVE GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR ECU (w/ Glass Breakage Sensor) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  39. REMOVE REMOTE ENGINE STARTER ECU WITH BRACKET (w/ Remote Engine Starter System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  40. REMOVE GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR ECU WITH REMOTE ENGINE STARTER ECU (for Glass Breakage Sensor with Remote Engine Starter System)

  41. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <D>.

    2. Disengage the 14 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    1. Disengage the 9 clips.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.
  46. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX 
    1. Remove the screw <D>.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips and 4 guides and remove the front console box as shown in the illustration.

  47. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  48. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the room temperature sensor.
    3. Disengage each clamp.
    4. Remove the 2 instrument panel passenger airbag assembly bolts <A>.

    5. Remove the 4 bolts <B>, bolt <C> and nut <E>.
    6. Remove the 2 clips.
    7. Disengage the 5 guides and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
      • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
