Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - 10/2015] Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2015 - ] ).
NOTE:After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - ] ).
- REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX
(Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Check that the engine switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the connector.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Slider NOTE:When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 48
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
When storing the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Disengage the clamp.
- Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Airbag Connector *2 Airbag Connector Lock *a Protective Tape - Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Disengage the clamp.
