Remove/install panoramic roof frame - AR77.21-P-0800SX

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
NOTES Notes on removal/installation of windows   AH67.10-P-1000-02RT
1 Determine height between front glass cover (1) and windshield (3) and note IMPORTANT Dimensions are required for installing panoramic roof frame (10).  
2.1 Determine height and gap dimension between rear glass roof (5) and rear window (7) and note Model 204.3, 207.3, 212.0
IMPORTANT The dimension is required for installing the panoramic roof frame (10).

2.2 Determine height and gap dimension between rear glass roof (5) and rear glass cover and note Model 212.1
IMPORTANT The dimension is required for installing the panoramic roof frame (10).

3 Open crank window in driver door NOTES Leave crank window in driver door open for duration of the glue hardening time (waiting time) to prevent the panoramic roof frame (10) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the doors are closed.  
4 Prepare adhesive cartridge IMPORTANT Heat glue cartridge for at least 20 minutes.

5.1 Remove drip rails on panoramic sliding sunroof Model 204.3, 207.3, 212 AR88.80-P-4000EW

6.1 Remove multifunction antenna or multifunction antenna mockup Model 204.3, 207.3 AR82.70-P-8951EC

6.3 Remove cover for antenna and antenna mock-up Model 212.0 as of model year 2011 AR82.70-P-8952EW

7 Remove roller sun blind of panoramic sliding sunroof Model 204.3, 207.3 AR77.21-P-0215EC

8 Cut off weatherstrip (2) on front glass cover (1) with suitable knife IMPORTANT Cut off weatherstrip (2) only at front.  
9 Fold top lip down against windshield (3) and arrest with suitable adhesive tape (12)    
10 Cut weatherstrip (6) off of rear glass roof (5) with suitable knife IMPORTANT Cut off weatherstrip (6) only at rear.  
11 Fold lip over at top of rear window (7) and fasten with suitable adhesive tape (8) Model 204.3, 207.3, 212.0, 221  
12 Mask roof paneling (9) with adhesive tape on both sides.    
13 Mask rear roof paneling to weatherstrip (6) with suitable adhesive tape Model 212.2
NOTES This prevents damaging the vehicle paintwork in the repair area when cutting out the panoramic roof frame (10).		  
14 Install cutting wire (11) with pull-in device through glue bead on panoramic roof frame (10). IMPORTANT Install pull-in device in area of rear corner (arrow) of panoramic roof frame (10).
"Veritrac" window removal tool		  
DANGER Risk of injury  due to tear or warming up of cutting wire and through glass splinters when cutting out glued windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
15 Cut out panoramic roof frame (10) with cutting wire (11) and remove from vehicle IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
Panoramic roof frame (10) must be replaced.

16 Prepare panoramic roof frame (10) for installation Suction lifting device AR77.21-P-0800-02SX

17 Prepare body flange for panoramic roof frame (10) for installation Wet and dry vacuum cleaner AR77.21-P-0800-05SX

18 Apply glue for panoramic roof frame (10) "Pressofix" cartridge gun AR77.21-P-0800-03SX

19 Install panoramic roof frame (10) NOTES Do not move vehicle before the glue is sufficiently dry (approx. 1 h), otherwise the stability of the glue is not ensured.
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
Remove adhesive tape (8, 12) after installing and before aligning panoramic roof frame (10). Observe dimensions noted when aligning.
On model 207 and 212 the panoramic roof frame (10) is only aligned as per the noted dimensions.
It is possible to carefully install the detachable parts after the adhesive has cured sufficiently (approx. 30 min.).		 *BE77.21-P-1001-01D
