Installation Procedure
- Slowly and carefully lower the vehicle, ensure the powertrain assembly is free from wiring, hoses and other engine compartment components.
- Install the engine support fixture. Engine Support Fixture
Transmission Mount Bolt (1) - Install NEW bolts. [4x]
- Transmission Mount Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [4x]
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 60-75 degrees - EN-45059 meter
Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Install NEW bolts. [2x]
- Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [2x]
Electrical Connector (1) @ Power Steering Assist Motor (2) - Connect [2x]
- Steering Gear Heat Shield - Install - Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement
Raise the suspension frame carefully completely to the vehicle.
- Make sure that the front suspension frame (2) fits closely to the vehicle.
Install the 2 CH-51034 pins (1, 3) to arrange the front suspension frame during tightening.
- Make sure that the 2 CH-51034 pins (1, 3) fit closely to the front suspension frame (2).
- WARNING:NOTE:
During the tightening procedure check that the pins slide easily in their holes.
Loosely install 8 NEW bolts (1, 2, 3).
- Tighten the 2 center frame bolts (2) in two passes:
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 90-105 degrees - EN-45059 meter
- Tighten the 4 rear frame bolts (1) in two passes:
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 90-105 degrees - EN-45059 meter
- Tighten the 2 front frame bolts (3) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
Remove the 2 CH-51034 pins (1, 3) from the front suspension frame (2).
- NOTE:
A second technician is required.
Remove the drivetrain and front suspension cradle (1) with a suitable jack (2).
- WARNING:CAUTION:
Transmission Mount Strut Bolt (1) @ Transmission Mount Strut Bracket (2) - Install and tighten the NEW bolt.
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 90-105 degrees - EN-45059 meter
Exhaust Muffler Insulator Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Front Wheel Drive Shaft @ Front Wheel Hub - Install [2x] - Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
- Lower Control Arm @ Steering Knuckle - Connect [2x] - Lower Control Arm Replacement
- Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod @ Steering Knuckle - Connect [2x] - Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
- Stabilizer Shaft Link @ Stabilizer Shaft - Connect [2x] - Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose @ Charge Air Cooler - Connect - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Replacement
- Radiator Outlet Hose @ Radiator - Connect - Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
- Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe @ Radiator - Connect - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
- Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe @ Radiator - Connect - Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet and Outlet Pipe Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
- Radiator Inlet Hose @ Radiator - Connect - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
Electrical Connector (1) @ Charge Air Temperature Sensor (2) - Connect
Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose (2) @ Charge Air Cooler (3) - Connect
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Retainer Spring (1) - Install
Seal Ring (3, 4) - Install NEW [2x]
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Install
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 19 N.m (14 lb ft)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the engine support fixture. Engine Support Fixture
Loose the radiator assembly (2) from the body and remove the 2 lashing straps (1).
Remove the suitable plugs.
- Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) @ Fuel Feed Pipe (2) - Connect - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Fuel Return Front Pipe (2) @ Fuel Return Pipe (4) - Connect - Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Connect the power brake booster vacuum pipe (2) to the power brake booster inlet hose fitting (1). Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Heater Outlet Hose @ Heater Core - Connect - Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
- Heater Inlet Hose @ Heater Core - Connect - Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
Range Selector Lever Cable (1) @ Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Bracket - Install
Push the range selector lever cable into the bracket.
- Range Selector Lever Cable @ Range Selector Lever Cable Lever - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank - Install - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
- Install the nitrogen oxides sensor assembly to the vehicle.
- NOTE:
Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position
CAUTION:Nitrogen Oxides Sensor (2) - Install and tighten 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install
- Raise the vehicle.
Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [2x]
- NOTE:
Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position
Install the nitrogen oxides sensor control module (2).
- Install the 2 nitrogen oxides sensor control module nuts (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
Wiring Harness Retainer (1, 3) - Install [2x]
- Connect the electrical connector. (2)
Install the 2 exhaust particulate sensor control module bracket bolts (2) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Exhaust Front Pipe - Install - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7)
- Install the front bumper fascia. Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
{If equipped} Install the engine oil heater (2).
- {If equipped} Install the 2 engine oil heater bolts (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
{If equipped} Connect the electrical connector (1) to the engine oil heater (2).
- Front Compartment Insulator - Install - Front Compartment Insulator Replacement
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Lower and unsupport the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover - Install - Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement
Generator and Starter Cable (4) - Install
- Wiring Harness Ground Nut - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Retainer (1) - Install
- Engine Control Module and Electronic Brake Control Module Bracket - Install - Engine Control Module and Electronic Brake Control Module Bracket Replacement

Wiring Harness Ground Nut (7) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- {If equipped} Install the engine oil heater wiring harness (3) to the 3 wiring harness retainer (2).
- Electrical Connector (5) @ Fuse Block - Install
- Connect the electrical connector:
- Transmission Control Module (6)
- Engine Control Module to Body Wiring Harness (8)
- Install the front compartment fuse block. Front Compartment Fuse Block Replacement
- Install the engine sight shield. Engine Sight Shield Replacement
- Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Fill and inspect the transmission fluid level. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
- Install the intermediate steering shaft. Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling
- Perform the Crankshaft Position Variation Learn. Crankshaft Position Variation Learn
- When the replacement is completed, use a scan tool to perform the appropriate reset functions. Control Module References
