Replacing The Rear Door On The Left

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM PANEL .
• Refer to REMOVING THE OUTER WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP AT THE REAR DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP FROM INNER REAR DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOW FRAME AT THE REAR .
• Refer to REMOVING WINDOW FRAME TRIM OF REAR DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING THE BUMPER STRIP FROM THE REAR DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
• Refer to REMOVING MODULE BRACKET ON THE REAR DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING THE RUBBER WINDOW SEAL FOR THE DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
• Refer to REMOVE THE WINDOW FRAME TRIM OF THE REAR DOOR (C-PILLAR) .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR DOOR WINDOW GLASS (FIXED) .

Prerequisite 

New part is painted.

• Pull the lock (1) to the top and disconnect the plug connection (2).

• Unclip wiring harness (1) at the marked positions.
• Loosen grommet (2).
• Feed the wiring harness (1) out of the door.

  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Mechanical effects. 
  Paint damage. 

  • Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
  • Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
• Unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the door.

• Protect the new door from falling.
• Position the door at the door hinges.

  Tighten down screws (1).

  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Rear door to door hinge
  M8 screw
  	tightening torque
  	19 Nm

• Carefully close the door and check for bodywork contact, reposition door if necessary.
• Insert the wiring harness (1) into the rear door.
• Mount the grommet (2) and check for correct fit.
• Clip in wiring harness (1) at the marked positions.

• Connect the plug connection (1) and push the lock (2) down.

• Remount the seals (1) and (2).
• Remount the clips (3).

• Renew abrasion protection film (1).

  Parts:  Abrasion protection film

  Stick abrasion protection film onto new door.

• Depending on equipment version:

  Renew two sealing films (1) or remount two clips (2).

  Parts:  Sealing film

  Bond the sealing film on the new door.
