Replacing Left Front Door

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING THE MIRROR TRIANGLE COVER .
• Refer to REMOVE THE TRIM OF THE DOOR HANDLE .
• Refer to REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
• Refer to REMOVE THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR FROM THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING THE WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
• Refer to REMOVE FRONT INNER WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP .
• Refer to REMOVING THE COVER ON THE WINDOW FRAME .
• Refer to REMOVE THE WINDOW FRAME TRIM FROM THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE THE MODULE BRACKET FROM THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING RUBBER WINDOW SEAL FOR THE FRONT DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
• Refer to REMOVE THE FRONT OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE .
• Refer to REMOVING DOOR LOCK AND OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE SUPPORT OF DRIVER'S DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVING THE PROTECTIVE STRIP FROM THE FRONT DOOR .
• Refer to REMOVE DOOR STOP .

Prerequisite 

New part is painted.

• Pull the lock (1) to the top and disconnect the plug connection (2).

• Unclip wiring harness (1) at marked positions (arrows).
• Loosen grommet (2).
• Guide out wiring harness (1) out of the front door.

  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Mechanical effects. 
  Paint damage. 

  • Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
  • Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
• Secure front door against falling.
• Loosen screws (1) and remove front door.

• Protect the new door from falling.
• Position new door on door hinges.

  Tighten down screws (1).

  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

  	Tightening torque
  	19 Nm

• Carefully close front door and check for bodywork contact, reposition door if necessary.
• Guide wiring harness (1) into front door.
• Mount (2) the grommet and check for correct fit (watertight).
• Clip in wiring harness (1) at marked positions (arrows).

• Connect (1) connectors and press down locking (2) mechanism.

• Remount the seals (1) and (2).

  Check the seals for damage and correct fit.

  If necessary, install new seal.

• Renew adhesive tape (1).

  Parts:  Adhesive tape

  Stick adhesive tape onto new door.

• Renew abrasion protection film (1).

  Parts:  Abrasion protection film

  Stick abrasion protection film onto new door

• Remount the clips (1).
