Removal [07/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE ARMREST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 console box silencer pad (1).

    2. Loosen T20 screws (1).

    3. Detach the clips (2) to remove the front console armrest assembly (1).

  3. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL 
    1. Remove the No. 2 console box silencer pad (1).

    2. Detach the clips (1) to remove the console upper rear panel (2).

  4. REMOVE CONSOLE SIDE PANEL 
    1. Detach the clips (2) to remove the console side panel (1).

  5. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL AND CONSOLE PANEL RETAINER 
    1. Loosen T20 screws (1).

    2. Detach the guides (3) to remove the console panel (1) and console panel retainer (2) as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL 
    1. Loosen T20 screw (1) on the instrument panel finish lower panel (2).

    2. Open the glove compartment door assembly (1).

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the rubber plug (1).

    4. Loosen T20 screw behind it.
    5. Using a moulding remover A, detach the clip (2) of the instrument panel finish lower panel (1).

    6. Slightly pull out the instrument panel finish lower panel (1) toward you as shown in the illustration.

      Place Hands Here Remove in this Direction
    7. Pull the instrument panel finish lower panel (1) straight forward, detach the guides (3) and the clip (2), and pull it out toward you.

      Place Hands Here Remove in this Direction
    8. Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

    9. Detach the clip (3) to disconnect the wiring harness (2).
    10. Remove the instrument panel finish lower panel.
  7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.

      Protective Tape
    2. Using a molding remover A, detach the clips (2) of upper console panel sub-assembly (1).
    3. Raise the upper console panel sub-assembly (1) a little.
    4. w/o Wireless Charger:
      1. Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) from the upper console panel sub-assembly (2).

    5. w/ Wireless Charger:
      1. Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) from the upper console panel sub-assembly (2).

    6. Remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB (for Manual Transmission) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the clips (2) of the upper console panel sub-assembly (1).

    2. Lift the upper console panel sub-assembly (1) up slightly.
    3. Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

    4. Remove the upper console panel sub-assembly (2).
  10. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. for LHD:

      1. Type A:

        1. Turn the locks (3) by 90°.

      2. Type B:

        1. Loosen screws (3).

      3. Detach the guide (2).
      4. Detach the guides (4) to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly (1).
      5. Unlock associated plug connections and disconnect.
    2. for RHD:

      1. Turn the locks (3) by 90°.
      2. Detach the guide (2).
      3. Detach the guides (4) to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly (1).
      4. Unlock associated plug connections and disconnect.
  12. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the locks (3) by 90°.

    2. Detach the guide (2).
    3. Detach the guides (4) to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly (1).
    4. Unlock plug connections and disconnect.
  13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Loosen T20 screw (1) on the console box assembly (2) on the left.

    4. Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

    5. Loosen bolts (1).

    6. Remove the console box assembly (2).
  14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CUP HOLDER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the console box cup holder is necessary.

    1. Loosen T20 screws (1).

    2. Remove the console box cup holder (2).
  15. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the console panel or console panel retainer is necessary.

    1. Loosen T20 screws (1).

    2. Detach the clips (2).
    3. Remove the console panel (3).
  16. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the instrument panel finish lower panel is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  17. REMOVE BOX BOTTOM MAT (w/o Wireless Charger) 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the box bottom mat is necessary.

    1. Remove the box bottom mat.
  18. REMOVE MOBILE WIRELESS CHARGER CRADLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Wireless Charger) 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the upper console panel sub-assembly is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the upper console panel sub-assembly is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  20. REMOVE PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the upper console panel sub-assembly is necessary.

    See step  9

  21. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the upper console panel sub-assembly is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  22. REMOVE REMOTE OPERATION CONTROLLER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the upper console panel sub-assembly is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  23. REMOVE NO. 1 BOX PANEL 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 box panel is necessary.

    1. Loosen T20 screws (1).

    2. Detach the claw (2) and guides (3).
    3. Remove the No. 1 box panel (4).
  24. REMOVE EMERGENCY LOUDSPEAKER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly is necessary.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  25. REMOVE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Foot light) 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the instrument panel under cover sub-assembly is necessary.

  26. REMOVE FOOTWELL STORAGE NET 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the footwell storage net is necessary.

    1. Detach the clips (2) to remove the footwell storage net (1).

  27. REMOVE FLOOR MAT ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the floor mat assembly is necessary.
    • Use the same procedures for the front passenger side.
    1. Remove the floor mat assembly (1).

    2. Turn the No. 1 mat set plates (1) by 90° and remove upward from the front floor carpet assembly.

      HINT: 

      Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 mat set plate is necessary.
