- ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

- DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2017 - ]
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for AWD)

- REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH
- REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH
- DRAIN ENGINE OIL

- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

- DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (for 2WD)

- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK

- REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
- REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Hold the rear of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and raise it to disengage the 2 rear clips.
- Raise the V-bank cover sub-assembly to disengage the 2 front clips and remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.NOTE:
Attempting to disengage both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the V-bank cover sub-assembly to break.
- Hold the rear of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and raise it to disengage the 2 rear clips.
- REMOVE BATTERY
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

- REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET
- DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
- Remove the relay block cover from the engine room relay block.
- Disconnect the 3 connectors.
- Remove the nut from the engine room relay block.
- Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire from the vehicle.
- Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the engine wire from the air cleaner support bracket and vehicle.
- Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the engine wire from the engine room relay block.
- Pull up the lever to disconnect the ECM connector.
- Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the engine wire from the vehicle.
- DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

- DISCONNECT FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE ASSEMBLY
- DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE
- Remove the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp from the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.
- Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp from the fuel tube connector.
- Disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly (for Direct Injection).
- Disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

- Disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.
- Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly (for Port Injection).
- Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.

- Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pipe.
- Remove the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp from the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.
- DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
- DISCONNECT WATER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 WATER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- DISCONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL THERMOSTAT

- REMOVE DUTY VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE

- REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH
- REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET
- REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine moving control rod is necessary.
- Remove the bolt and engine moving control rod from the engine mounting bracket.
- DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER SETTING BOLT
- REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
- Place height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, set an engine lifter underneath the engine assembly with transaxle.NOTE:
- Install a height adjustment attachment and plate lift attachment onto the engine assembly with transaxle.
- Securely support the engine assembly to prevent it from turning upside down until it is secured to an engine stand.
- Do not perform any procedure while the engine assembly is suspended because doing so may cause the engine assembly to drop, resulting in injury. However, the engine assembly needs to be suspended when it is installed to or removed from an engine stand.
- Remove the 2 clamps and separate the front fender liner LH and RH from the frame side rail plates LH and RH.
- Remove the 6 bolts, 2 nuts and frame side rail plates LH and RH.
Bolt Nut - Remove the 6 bolts, 2 nuts and front suspension member rear braces LH and RH.
- Operate the engine lifter, then remove the engine assembly from the vehicle.NOTE:
- Make sure that the engine is clear of all wiring and hoses.
- While lowering the engine from the vehicle, do not allow it to contact the vehicle.
- Place height adjustment attachments and plate lift attachments, set an engine lifter underneath the engine assembly with transaxle.
- INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS
- Install the No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger with the 4 bolts as shown in the illustration.
Torque: 33 N*m (337 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)
HINT:
No. 1 Engine Hanger 12281-31121 No. 2 Engine Hanger 12282-31100 Bolt 90119-A0117 *A for Bank 1 *B for Bank 2 *1 No. 1 Engine Hanger *2 No. 2 Engine Hanger - Using an engine sling device and engine lifter, secure the engine assembly with transaxle.NOTE:
- Adjust the angle of the sling device carefully to prevent damage or deformation to the engine hangers or engine assembly.
- Do not perform any procedures while the engine assembly is suspended because doing so may cause the engine assembly to drop, resulting in injury. However, the engine assembly needs to be suspended when it is installed to or removed from an engine stand.
- Install the No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger with the 4 bolts as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

- Disconnect all the clamps and connectors and remove the engine wire from the engine assembly with transaxle.

- REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET RH (for AWD)

- INSTALL ENGINE ASSEMBLY TO ENGINE STAND
- Install the engine assembly to an engine stand.
- REMOVE ENGINE HANGERS
- Remove the 4 bolts, No. 1 engine hanger and No. 2 engine hanger from the cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder head LH.
- REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front engine mounting insulator assembly is necessary.
- REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine mounting insulator LH is necessary.
