Removal [12/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. SECURE STEERING WHEEL 
    1. Secure the steering wheel with the seat belt in order to prevent it from rotating.

      HINT: 

      This operation is necessary to prevent damage to the spiral cable.

  2. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (for 2WD) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [12/2015 - ] )

  3. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (for AWD) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [12/2015 - ] )

  4. SEPARATE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering link assembly.

    2. Remove the bolt. and separate the steering intermediate shaft assembly from the steering link assembly.

  5. REMOVE STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and steering link assembly.

      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

    2. Pull out the steering link assembly towards the left side of the vehicle.
  6. REMOVE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Put matchmarks on the tie rod assembly LH and steering gear assembly.

    2. Loosen the lock nut, and remove the tie rod assembly LH and lock nut.
  7. REMOVE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
