Removal [12/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 
  2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  7. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. LOOSEN FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT NUT 
    1. Loosen the front suspension support nut of the front shock absorber assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Do not remove the front suspension support nut.
      • Loosen the front suspension support nut only when the front shock absorber with coil spring needs to be disassembled.
  10. REMOVE COWL PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel pump resistor connector.

    2. Disengage the 5 clamps and separate the engine room main wire from the cowl panel sub-assembly.

    3. w/ Windshield Deicer System:

      1. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.
    4. Remove the 5 bolts, 4 nuts and cowl panel sub-assembly.

  11. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR 
    1. Remove the bolt and resin clamp, and separate the front speed sensor and front flexible hose.

      NOTE:
      • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the front speed sensor tip.
      • Clean the speed sensor installation hole and the contact surfaces every time the front speed sensor is removed.
  12. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and separate the front stabilizer link assembly from the front shock absorber assembly.

      HINT: 

      If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a hexagon wrench 6 mm to hold the stud bolt.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING 
    1. Support the front axle using a jack and wooden block.

      Front of the Vehicle - -
    2. Remove the 2 nuts and 2 bolts and separate the front shock absorber with coil spring (lower side) from the steering knuckle.

      NOTE:

      When removing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.

    3. Remove the nut and 2 spacers on the front shock absorber with coil spring (upper side).

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the front speed sensor is completely separated from the front shock absorber with coil spring.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Secure SST in a vise.

      • SST: 09727-00050 
      • SST: 09727-30021 
        1. 09727-00010
        2. 09727-00031
    2. Attach the arm of SST to the diameter of the front coil spring.

      WARNING:
      • Make sure that the front coil spring is installed so that the distance between the upper and lower hooks of SST is at the maximum.
      • Make sure that the claws of the hooks are securely attached.
    3. Using SST, compress the front coil spring.
      WARNING:
      • If the front coil spring bends during the compression, immediately stop the compression and reinstall SST.
      • Do not compress the spring until the coil springs contact each other.
      • Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage SST.
    4. Confirm that the front coil spring becomes free and remove the front suspension support nut.
      WARNING:

      Do not remove the nut when the front coil spring is not free.

    5. Remove the front suspension support sub-assembly.
  15. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION SUPPORT BEARING 
  16. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING UPPER SEAT 
  17. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING UPPER INSULATOR 
  18. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING 
  19. REMOVE FRONT SPRING BUMPER 
  20. REMOVE FRONT COIL SPRING LOWER INSULATOR
