Removal [08/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH.
  2. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts to separate the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the center exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 3 exhaust pipe supports to remove the tail exhaust pipe assembly from the vehicle.
    3. Remove the gasket from the center exhaust pipe assembly.
  3. REMOVE CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs to separate the center exhaust pipe assembly from the front exhaust pipe assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 2 exhaust pipe supports to remove the center exhaust pipe assembly from the vehicle.
    3. Remove the gasket from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs to remove the center exhaust pipe sub-assembly (TWC: rear catalyst) from the center No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

    5. Remove the gasket from the center No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.
  4. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and exhaust pipe damper from the center No. 2 exhaust pipe sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (for bank 1) connector.

    2. Remove the heated oxygen sensor (for bank 1) wire grommet and pass the connector through the hole to the outside of the vehicle.
    3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (for bank 2) connector.

    4. Disengage the 2 clamps to disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (for bank 2) wire from the wire harness clamp bracket.

    5. Loosen the bolt and separate the exhaust pipe clamp from the No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket.

    6. Remove the 4 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly from the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: front catalyst) and exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: front catalyst).

    7. Remove the 2 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly.
  6. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  7. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6
