REMOVING Remove     
1 Open side window in driver door IMPORTANT This prevents the panoramic roof (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure during the adhesive material curing time when the doors are subsequently closed.  
2 Provide left or right roof railing or roof paneling with suitable protective covers IMPORTANT To protect against damage, because it is necessary to sporadically lay the panoramic roof (1) down on the roof railing or roof paneling during the further work procedure. Secure protective covers against slipping.  
3 Remove rear headliner Model 447.7
with code V23 (Interior trim, premium version)
except code ZH6 (Marco Polo ACTIVITY)

4 Remove front headliner   AR68.30-S-7607E
5 Remove left and right front air duct (2) Model 447.7/8
with code HZ7 (TEMPMATIC semi-automatic air conditioning in rear)

6 Disconnect electrical connector on panoramic sliding roof (X308)    
7 Unclip connector (3) toward front from panoramic roof (1)    
8 Remove electrical wiring harness (4) from panoramic roof (1)    
9 Open cable ties at brackets (5) and remove electrical wiring harness (6) from roof bow (7)    
WARNING Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
10 Cut out panoramic roof (1) with cutting wire IMPORTANT Helper required. AR77.21-S-0750-12E 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of shields Fig 2
11 Remove panoramic roof (1) in upward direction, guide downward through panoramic roof cutout into vehicle interior and set down there NOTES
Carefully handle panoramic roof (1).
Panoramic roof (1), roof paneling and/or parts of interior equipment can otherwise be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
12 Remove panoramic roof (1) toward rear from vehicle and set down with inside facing upwards on suitable assembly stands NOTES
Carefully handle panoramic roof (1).
Panoramic roof (1), roof paneling and/or parts of interior equipment can otherwise be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
INSTALLING Install     
13 Prepare 2 adhesive cartridges NOTES
Simultaneously prepare adhesive cartridges.
The permitted processing and setting time of the adhesive material of max 15 min can otherwise not be complied with.

14 Replace brackets (5) for electrical wiring harness (6) at roof bow (7) When the brackets (5) have been damaged when cutting out the panoramic roof (1).  
15 Prepare body flange for painting If roof paneling was replaced. AR65.10-S-1000-09E
    Tesa 7140 adhesive tape (12 mm) *BR00.45-Z-1134-02A 
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by paint vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling paint vapors. No smoking! No open fire! Use respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses and protective skin cream. Ensure that the area is well ventilated. AS98.00-Z-0002-01A
16 Prime cutout for panoramic roof (1) in roof paneling If roof paneling was replaced.

17 Paint cutout for panoramic roof (1) in roof paneling If roof paneling was replaced.

18 Prepare body flange for installing panoramic roof (1)   AR77.21-S-0750-13E 
Notice  General notes on touch-up applicators and paint spray cans NOTES
Always observe instructions described in document reference for preparing bonding surfaces on vehicle.
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.

19 Prepare panoramic roof (1) for installation IMPORTANT A total of 4 cup suction tools are required. AR77.21-S-0750-14E

20 Align panoramic roof (1) IMPORTANT Helper required. AR77.21-S-0750-15E

21 Apply adhesive material to panoramic roof (1)   AR77.21-S-0750-16E 
    NOTES It must be ensured that 3 helpers, all component parts, materials, tools and platforms or steps that are required for gluing in the panoramic roof (1) are available.
The permitted processing and setting time of the adhesive material of max. 15 min can otherwise not be complied with.
NOTES
Object and room temperatures must be at least 15°C and may not exceed 35°C.
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.

22 Glue in panoramic roof (1) NOTES Glue in panoramic roof (1) immediately after application of adhesive material.
The permitted processing and setting time of the adhesive material of max 15 min can otherwise not be complied with.
NOTES Always observe instructions described in the document references to glue in the panoramic roof (1).
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive
connection can be impaired or leakage can occur later.
NOTES Vehicle may not be moved for at least 2 h after gluing in of panoramic roof (1).
Otherwise the strength of the adhesive connection can be impaired and proper adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
IMPORTANT A total of 3 helpers are required.

23 Secure panoramic roof (1) against slipping with stable adhesive tape    
24 Put loads on panoramic roof (1) with loads over full surface NOTES Load panoramic roof (1) with large weights, e.g. sandbags.
Otherwise the panoramic roof (1) can be damaged.
 
25 Attach electrical wiring harness (6) with new cable ties to brackets (5) of roof bow (7)    
26 Install connector (3) on panoramic roof (1)    
27 Connect electrical connector to panoramic sliding roof (X308)    
28 Attach electrical wiring harness (4) to panoramic roof (1)    
29 Install left and right front air duct (2) Model 447.7/8
with code HZ7 (TEMPMATIC semi-automatic air
conditioning in rear)

30 Install front headliner   AR68.30-S-7607E
31 Install rear headliner Model 447.7

32 Remove protective covers from roof railing or roof paneling    
33 Remove all adhesive strips attached when aligning the panoramic roof (1)    
34 Remove weights to put load on panoramic roof (1) IMPORTANT After an idle time of the of vehicle of min. 2 h.  
35 Remove all adhesive strips to fix panoramic roof (1) IMPORTANT After an idle time of the of vehicle of min. 2 h.  
36 Synchronize panoramic roof (1) with diagnostic system and perform teach-in run for automatic reversing function    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-S-2000-04E
INSPECT Check     
37 Perform function test of sliding sunroof and roller sunblinds of panoramic roof (1)
