Installation [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL ENGINE HANGER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 88

  2. REMOVE ENGINE STAND 
    1. Attach an engine sling device and hang the engine with a chain block.
      NOTE:

      Pay attention to the angle of the sling device as the engine assembly or engine hangers may be damaged or deformed if the angle is incorrect.

    2. Lift the engine and remove it from the engine stand.
      NOTE:

      With the exception of installing the engine assembly to an engine stand or removing the engine assembly from an engine stand, do not perform any work on the engine while it is suspended, as doing so is dangerous.

    3. Place the engine onto a work bench.
  3. INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  4. INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER 
    1. Install the rear engine mounting member to the rear engine mounting insulator with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 41 N.m (418 kgf/cm, 30 ft.lbf)

  5. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    HINT: 

    Only perform this procedure when replacement of the engine mounting insulator is necessary.

    1. Install the 2 front engine mounting insulators with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 65 N.m (663 kgf/cm, 48 ft.lbf)

  6. CONNECT FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the front frame assembly to the engine assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 57 N.m (581 kgf/cm, 42 ft.lbf)

  16. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY LH

  17. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY RH

  18. CONNECT AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  19. INSTALL NO. 1 EGR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  20. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Install a new O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.
    2. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring.
    3. Push in the engine oil level dipstick guide end into the guide hole.
    4. Install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  21. INSTALL ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY 
    1. Set the engine on an engine lifter.
      NOTE:
      • Place wooden blocks or plate lift attachments so that the engine is level.
      • With the exception of installing the engine assembly to an engine stand or removing the engine assembly from an engine stand, do not perform any work on the engine while it is suspended, as doing so is dangerous.
      • Never install attachments to the oil pan of the engine assembly or transmission as doing so may deform the oil pan.

      Place Wooden Block or Plate Attachments
    2. Operate the engine lifter and install the engine and transmission assembly to the vehicle.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the engine is clear of all wiring and hoses.

    3. Install the engine and transmission assembly to the vehicle with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 175.5 N.m (1790 kgf/cm, 129 ft.lbf) 

    4. Install the rear engine mounting member with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 34.7 N.m (354 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf)

    5. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 engine hangers.
  22. INSTALL NO. 2 GROUND WIRE 
    1. Connect the No. 2 ground wire with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)

  23. CONNECT NO. 2 PARKING LOCK RELEASE CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the parking lock release lever assembly cable end to the No. 2 parking lock release cable assembly cable end.

    2. Attach the 2 claws and connect the cover to the No. 2 parking lock release cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

  24. CONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  25. CONNECT STEERING KNUCKLE RH 

    HINT: 

    Install the RH side following the same procedure as for the LH side.

  26. CONNECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the absorber and absorber bracket. Then install the bolt.

      Torque: 48 N.m (489 kgf/cm, 35 ft.lbf)

  27. CONNECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Install the RH side following the same procedure as for the LH side.

    HINT: 

    Remove the RH side following the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Torque: 31 N.m (316 kgf/cm, 23 ft.lbf) 

      Bolt B 

      Torque: 14 N.m (143 kgf/cm, 10 ft.lbf)

  54. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 2 front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 6 nuts.

      Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf/cm, 18 ft.lbf) 

  55. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 
    1. Install the 4 screws, attach the 3 claws and install the radiator support opening cover to the front crossmember sub-assembly.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf/cm, 49 in.lbf) 

  56. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT EXTENSION RH 
    1. Install the 3 screws, attach the 2 claws and install the radiator support extension RH to the radiator support opening cover.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf/cm, 49 in.lbf) 

    2. Return the front fender liner RH to its original position.
  57. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT EXTENSION LH 
    1. Install the 3 screws, attach the 2 claws and install the radiator support extension LH to the radiator support opening cover.

      Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf/cm, 49 in.lbf) 

    2. Return the front fender liner LH to its original position.
  58. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER 
    1. except Sport Package:

      Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2023 - ]

  59. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly and clamp.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2020 - ]

  60. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly and clamp.

  61. CONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Connect the No. 3 engine wire with the bolt and 2 clamps.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)

  62. CONNECT NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM WIRE 
    1. Connect the No. 3 engine room wire with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)

    2. Attach the claw and connect the connector holder.
    3. Connect the connector of the air conditioning wire.
    4. w/ Advanced Park:

      Connect the No. 3 engine room wire with the 4 connectors.

    5. w/o Advanced Park:

      Connect the No. 3 engine room wire with the 2 connectors.

  63. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Connect the clamp and 2 claws.

  115. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 2 engine under cover assembly with 11 bolts.

      Torque: 7.0 N.m (71 kgf/cm, 62 in.lbf)

  116. INSTALL TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER 
    1. Install the transmission under cover with 4 bolts and clip.

      • Securely attach the clips.
      • If the clips are forcibly attached or struck with an object, they may be damaged.
