Installation [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL DISC BRAKE AIR GUIDE PLATE 
    1. Install disc brake air guide plate to the steering knuckle LH.
  2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a hexagon socket wrench 12 mm, install the front axle hub sub-assembly LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 80 N.m (816 kgf/cm, 59 ft.lbf)

  3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE LH 

    See step  3

  4. CONNECT FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  5. TIGHTEN STEERING KNUCKLE LH 

    See step  5

  6. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH 
    1. Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and axle shaft nut using a non-residue solvent.
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this work for a new drive shaft.
      • Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.
    2. Using a 30 mm socket wrench, install a new axle shaft nut.

      Torque: 294 N.m (2998 kgf/cm, 217 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not stake the shaft nut.

      HINT: 

      Stake the shaft nut after the axle hub bearing looseness and axle hub runout inspections.

  8. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER LH 
    1. Install the front disc brake dust cover LH with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf/cm, 71 in.lbf)

  9. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS 

    See step  6

  10. INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT 

    See step  7

  11. STAKE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH 
    1. Using a chisel and hammer, stake the front axle shaft nut.

  12. INSTALL FRONT DISC LH 
  13. CONNECT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

      Temporarily install the 5 hub nuts to the front axle hub LH to secure the front disc LH.

      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the flexible hose.

    2. Temporarily install the disc brake cylinder assembly LH with the bolt on the lower side of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
    3. Remove the SST.
    4. Install the disc brake cylinder assembly LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf) 

    5. Install the front flexible hose bracket LH to the steering knuckle with the bolt.

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    6. Connect the flexible hose to the front flexible hose with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    7. for RH side:

      for 6-Pot Caliper:

        Attach the guide to connect the pad wear indicator wire assembly.

      2. Connect the pad wear indicator wire assembly.

    8. for RH side:

      except 6-Poy Caliper:

      1. Attach the guide to connect the pad wear indicator wire assembly.

      2. Connect the pad wear indicator wire assembly.

  14. CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR WIRE 
    1. for LH Side:

      1. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Do not twist the skid control sensor wire when installing it.

      2. Install the speed sensor wire with the bolt.

        Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

        NOTE:
        • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the front speed sensor tip.
        • Firmly insert the front speed sensor body into the steering knuckle before tightening the bolt.
    2. for RH Side:

      1. Install the sensor clamp with the bolt.

        Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Do not twist the skid control sensor wire when installing it.

      2. Install the speed sensor wire with the bolt.

        Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf) 

        NOTE:
        • Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the front speed sensor tip.
        • Firmly insert the front speed sensor body into the steering knuckle before tightening the bolt.
      3. Connect the pad wear indicator connector.
    3. Install the sensor clamp with the nut.

      Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf/cm, 75 in.lbf)

      NOTE:

      Do not twist the skid control sensor wire when installing it.

  15. STABILIZE SUSPENSION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  16. INSTALL STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 113

  17. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 115

  18. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 117

  19. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2023 - ]

  20. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  21. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
  22. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2023 - ]

  23. INSPECT AND ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [10/2023 - ]

  24. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2022 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the auxiliary battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

  25. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2023 - ]

  26. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING
