Removal [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2020 - ] 

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  3. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2021 - ]

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2021 - 09/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction
    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw and 4 clips as shown in the illustration.
    3. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the instrument side panel LH as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws <C>.

    2. Disengage the 3 clips.
    3. Disengage the clamp and disconnect each connector to remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  10. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 5 claws, 7 clips and guide.

    2. Disconnect each connector to remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
  12. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  13. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  14. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 6 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Make sure to pull out straight or the guide pin may break.

    4. Disconnect the connector to remove the meter hood sub-assembly.
  15. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  16. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) WITH BRACKET (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  17. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

  18. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  19. REMOVE TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  20. REMOVE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH 
    1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw and 4 clips as shown in the illustration.
    3. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the instrument side panel RH as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect each connector to remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  25. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  26. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Open the glove compartment door assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the 3 screws <C>.

    3. Close the glove compartment door assembly as shown in the illustration.

    6. Disengage the clamp and disconnect each connector to remove the glove compartment door assembly.
  27. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

  28. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY WITH BOX (w/ ASC System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  30. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 4 claws and 4 clips as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connector to remove the center instrument panel register assembly.
  31. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 8 Inch Display) 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips and 3 claws to remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  32. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 10.3 Inch Display) 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and 3 claws to remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  35. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  36. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  37. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and 4 clips to remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly as shown in the illustration.
  38. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  39. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  40. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips and 2 guides to remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  41. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  42. DISCONNECT NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  43. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.

      *1 Cooler (Room Temp. Sensor) Thermistor - -
    2. Disconnect the connector.
    3. Disengage each clamp.
    4. Remove the 9 bolts <A>, 2 bolts <B>, 4 bolts <F> and nut <E>.

    5. Disengage the 5 guides and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      NOTE:
      • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
      • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
