- then select the following options: Exterior Electrical Feature > Security > Locking
and follow the prescribed diagnostic steps

- Fuel flap release motor detached from mounting bracket
- Fuel flap release motor circuit short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance
- Fuel flap release motor internal failure

- Check the integrity of the fuel flap release motor installation
- Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check the fuel flap release motor circuit for short circuit to ground, short circuit to power, open circuit, high resistance
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the body control module for related DTC
s and refer to the relevant DTC

- Mis-alignment of hood latches

- Partial latching due to cable not returning fully to rest
- Failure of hood microswitch (variant with blue switch plunger only)
- Intermittent alarm periods or inability to lock the vehicle

- Complete inspection of alignment for hood latches and adjust as necessary
- Inspect harness connections
- Inspect cable movement during latching (by manually closing latches with hood open)
- If the hood latch is installed with a blue switch plunger only and is showing intermittent failures then replace switched latch
- GO to PINPOINT TEST G .

| Hood will not unlatch when the lever is pulled (including single sided issue) |
- Mis-alignment of hood latches
- Release cable detachment from handle or latch
|
- Complete inspection of alignment of hood latches and adjust as necessary
- Inspect cable fixing points to make sure cable is fully installed
- GO to PINPOINT TEST H .

| Hood will not latch (including single sided issue) |
- Mis-alignment of hood latches
- Bump stop adjustment incorrect
- Physical obstruction preventing closure
- Cable friction holding pawl in place
|
- Complete inspection of alignment of hood latches and adjust as necessary
- Inspect that the bumpstops and other obstructions are not impeding the closure
- Inspect cable movement during latching (by manually closing latches with the hood open)
- GO to PINPOINT TEST I .

| Hood release lever does not return |
- Physical obstruction of lever
- Cable friction not allowing lever travel
- Cable detachment

- Inspect that obstructions are not present for the hood latch lever that would impede closure
- Complete inspection of alignment of hood latches and adjust as necessary
- Inspect the cable fixing points to make sure the cable is fully installed

- Cable detachment from the latch or release lever mechanism
- Movement jammed/obstructed/blocked

- Inspect the cable fixing points to make sure the cable is fully installed
- Inspect that obstructions are not present from the hood latch lever that would impede closing
