Preliminary Procedures Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the front floor console assembly. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Cadillac) or Console Replacement - Front Floor (Except Cadillac) . Remove the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar . Remove the instrument panel upper trim panel with defroster nozzle. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel with Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel with Windshield Defroster Nozzle Grille Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the instrument panel upper trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the instrument panel outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the left instrument panel deflector. Refer to Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Left (Cadillac) or Deflector Replacement - Instrument Panel Air - Left (Except Cadillac) . Remove the headlamp switch bezel assembly. Refer to Headlamp Switch Bezel Replacement . Remove the instrument panel cluster assembly. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Cluster Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the knee bolster assembly. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (Cadillac) or Knee Bolster Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement . Remove the instrument panel center trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center (Cadillac) or Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center (Except Cadillac) . Remove the instrument panel accessory trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the instrument panel clock assembly. Refer to Clock Replacement . Remove the instrument panel accessory switch assembly. Refer to Accessory Switch Replacement (Cadillac) or Accessory Switch Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement . Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement (Cadillac) or Radio Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the instrument panel compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement (Except Cadillac) . Remove the instrument panel access hole cover panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Cover Replacement (Cadillac) or Instrument Panel Compartment Access Hole Cover Replacement (Except Cadillac) .
1	Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Nuts (Qty: 4) NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
2	Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Bolts/Screws (Qty: 10) Tighten: 2 N.m (18 lb in)
3	Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Assembly Tip: Prior to removing the trim panel from the carrier support assembly, note the routing of the wiring to aid in the reassembly. Disconnect all electrical connections. With the aid of an assistant, remove the trim panel from the vehicle.
