System Tests: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Disconnect negative battery cable before disconnecting GEM or CTM connectors, failure to do so can result in GEM/CTM storing erroneous codes and may also result in erratic operation of GEM/CTM after repairs.
NOTE: If concern is that indicator never illuminates, check bulb before performing system tests. See USING HYBRID ELECTRONIC CLUSTER  under RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES in SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. This will command all instrument cluster bulbs and LEDs to illuminate.
NOTE: For Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) specific information, see INSTRUMENT PANELS - ANALOG - F150 - CNG article. For Bi-Fuel specific information, see INSTRUMENT PANELS - ANALOG - F150 - BI-FUEL article.
