- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Loosen screws (2) .
- Disengage the coolant ventilation line in area (1) .
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Place aside the holder with the vehicle wiring harness for the sensor system.
- Unlock the plug connection (1) on the exhaust turbocharger of cylinder bank 2 and detach.
- Unlock the plug connection of the oxygen sensor monitor of cylinder bank 2 (2) and disconnect.
- Unlock the plug connection of the high pressure pump of cylinder bank 2 (3) and disconnect.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the exhaust camshaft sensor of cylinder bank 2 (4) .
- Unlock the plug connection for the transmission wiring harness (5)
and disconnect.
- Unlock the vehicle wiring harness of the integrated power supply module (PDM) from the snap-in lug
- (1) and disconnect.
- Loosen screws (2) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the intake camshaft sensor of cylinder bank 2 (1) .
- Loosen screw (5) .
- Loosen screw (4) .
- Put cable heads (2)
and (3)
aside.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the Valvetronic servomotor (1) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the pressure sensor (2)
.
- Release the wiring harness mountings (1) .
- Unlock and disconnect plug connections of the knock sensors (2) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) of the tank vent valve of cylinder bank 2.
- Release the wiring harness mountings (2)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the VANOS solenoid actuator exhaust (1) .
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection of the VANOS solenoid actuator intake (4) .
- Release the wiring harness mountings (2) .
- Loosen screw (3)
.
- Slightly pull the holder (1) to the front.
- Guide out the vehicle wiring harness (2) upwards.
- Unlock the plug connection (1)
of the electric coolant pump feed line and disconnect.
- Unlock and disconnect the tank ventilation line (1) .
Removing the wiring harness for the sensor system of the right cylinder bank 2

- Loosen wiring harness fastening (1) .
- Release wiring harnesses in area (2)
out of the holder.
- Unlock and disconnect the holder of the wiring harness in area (1) .
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock wiring harness for the sensor system of the cylinder bank 2 and disconnect from the wiring harness for the sensor system of the cylinder bank 1 at the snap-in lug (2) .
- Guide out the wiring harness for the sensor system of the cylinder bank 2 and remove it.
