11 14 110 Removing And Installing Lower Timing Case Cover (N73)

Special Tools Required: 

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Release screws along lines (1).

Remove timing case cover (2) towards front.

Release screws (1) and remove coolant pipe (2).

Release screws along lines (3) and remove end cover (4) towards top.

Installation: 

Replace all seals.

Tightening torque, refer to 11 14 5AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Drive out coolant pipe (1) with special tool 23 1 040 at cutout (2) towards front.

Installation: 

Replace coolant pipe (1) and sealing ring (3).

Press in coolant pipe (1) by hand.

Installation: 

Grease sealing rings with mounting lubricant.

Clean sealing faces (2).

Check adapter sleeves (3) for damage and correct installation position.

Installation: 

Replace gaskets (4), observe installation position.

Assemble engine.
