Removal [08/2017 - 08/2018]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.

  2. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018]

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  6. REMOVE STEERING PAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  7. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  8. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH WITH SPIRAL CABLE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    See step  12

  12. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    See step  14

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  14. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 
    1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 7 claws and remove the instrument side panel LH.

  16. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  17. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts <A>.

    2. Detach the 9 clips and claw.
    3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor.

    4. Remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly LH and then disconnect the connectors.
  18. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  19. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  21. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX POCKET

  22. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the instrument panel finish panel retainer.
    2. Detach the 12 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.

    3. Disconnect each connector and detach the wire harness clamp.
  27. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  28. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL 
    1. Detach the 4 clips and 2 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and remove the center lower instrument panel finish panel.
  29. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY

  30. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)

  31. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

  32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

  37. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the clip and 4 claws.
    2. Detach the 2 guides and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
  38. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL 
    1. Remove the screw <D> and bolt <A>.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the lower instrument panel.
  39. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  40. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt <A> and 3 screws <D>.

    2. Detach the 3 claws and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly RH.
    3. Disconnect the connector.

  41. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 6 screws <B> or <H>.

    2. Detach the clip and remove the No. 2 instrument panel box door sub-assembly.
  42. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover D, detach the 4 clips and claw, and remove the instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
  43. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY LH

  44. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover D, detach the 4 clips and claw, and remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

  46. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

    2. Using a moulding remover D, detach the 6 clips and 2 claws, and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
  47. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  48. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    *1 Slider
    1. Slide the slider and disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.
    2. Detach the wire harness clamps and disconnect the connectors.
    3. Detach the wire harness clamp and disconnect each connector.

    4. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts <F>.
    5. Remove the 3 bolts <C> and 2 nuts <E>.

    6. Detach the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel sub-assembly.

  49. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY 
    1. Detach the 3 claws and remove the 3 No. 3 instrument panel stays.

    2. Remove the 5 screws <G> or <H> and No. 1 heater to register duct.

    1. Remove the 2 screws <G> or <H>.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 side defroster nozzle duct.

    1. Remove the 2 screws <G> or <H>.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 side defroster nozzle duct.
