Removal [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to:

    PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or

    PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019] .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to:

    INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or

    INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or

    INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019] .

  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel sub-assembly. Refer to:
    2. REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2017]
    3. REMOVAL [08/2017 - 08/2018]
    4. REMOVAL [08/2018 - 08/2019]
  4. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 

    Refer to:

    PROCEDURE - Step 59 [08/2015 - 08/2017]

    PROCEDURE - Step 51 [08/2017 - 08/2018]

    PROCEDURE - Step 52 [08/2018 - 08/2019]

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
    1. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.

      *1 Connector Lock

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure to disconnect the airbag connector on the other side.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp and remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  6. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
    1. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver, release the connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure to disconnect the airbag connector on the other side.

    2. Detach the wire harness clamp and remove the No. 3 instrument panel wire.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  7. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Disengage the 10 hooks and remove the front passenger airbag assembly.
