  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
  Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Clean area surrounding cap of brake fluid reservoir. Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
2 Remove cap from brake fluid reservoir.    
3 Check fill level in brake fluid reservoir. NOTES
The fill level must not be above the maximum marking.
This prevents the brake fluid reservoir from overflowing when the brake pistons are pushed back.
If the fill level in brake fluid reservoir is too high,

extract brake fluid.
IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Extraction bellows
 
4 Move rear axle brake pads into assembly position. Model 907,with code B25 (Electric parking brake)
NOTES
Do not operate the service brake while "Move to assembly position" is shown.
Otherwise, the spindle of the brake caliper (1) will be damaged.

5 Remove respective rear wheel.   AR40.10-D-1100TS
6 Remove holder (2) from brake caliper (1). If installed on affected side of vehicle.
IMPORTANT Remove screw (3) to do this.
 
7 Disconnect electrical wiring harness (4) from electrical wiring harness (5) to electrical connector. If installed on affected side of vehicle.  
8 Remove electrical wiring harness (5) from brake caliper (1). If installed on affected side of vehicle.
IMPORTANT To do this, remove bolt (6).
 
9 Disconnect electrical connector (7) from actuator motor (8) on each side of vehicle. Model 907,with code B25 (Electric parking brake)  
10 Remove brake pads on rear axle.   AR42.10-D-1710TS 
11 Remove brake hose (9) on vehicle side.   AR42.10-D-0023TS 
12 Remove dust cap (10).    
13 Remove brake caliper (1). NOTES
Model 907 with code B25 (Electric parking brake)
Replace brake calipers (1) in pairs only.
Otherwise, the different operating times may result in an inadequate braking effect.
IMPORTANT To do so, remove screw/bolt (11). Dispose of bolt (11).
IMPORTANT When replacing the brake caliper (1), only install brake calipers (1) from the same manufacturer and model on an axle.
 
INSPECT Check     
14 Check condition of brake disk and gauge degree of wear.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   If the brake disk is outside the test tolerances,

Replace brake disks in sets.

15 Check existing version of brake caliper support. Model 907
with code IT5 (5.0 tonner)
When replacing the brake caliper (1) together with the brake caliper guide or when replacing the brake caliper guide.
 
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Rear axle brake caliper support modified IMPORTANT Observe notes on modified version of brake caliper support. BT42.10-D-0221-01TS
16 Check brake caliper (1) and dust boot on given brake piston for leak tightness and damage. If a leak or damage is present,

Replace brake caliper (1).
 
17 Check boots and brake caliper support for damage and ease of movement. If damage or sluggishness is present,

replace affected components.
 
18 Check brake hose (9) for damage. If damage exists,  
   
Replace brake hose (9).

19 Modify brake hose (9). If brake caliper (1) is replaced and brake hose (9) is reused. AR42.10-D-0023TS 
INSTALLING Install     
20 Install brake caliper (1). NOTES
Model 907 with code B25 (Electric parking brake)
Replace brake calipers (1) in pairs only.
Otherwise, the different operating times may result in an inadequate braking effect.
IMPORTANT To do so, screw in new bolt (11).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/guide pin, brake caliper to brake caliper support

21 Install dust cap (10).    
22 Install brake hose (9) on vehicle side. IMPORTANT Do not yet bleed brake system. AR42.10-D-0023TS 
23 Install brake pads on rear axle. IMPORTANT Do not operate brake pedal yet. AR42.10-D-1710TS 
24 Connect electrical connector (7) to actuator motor (8). Model 907 with code B25 (Electric parking brake)  
25 Attach electrical wiring harness (5) to brake caliper (1). If installed on affected side of vehicle.
IMPORTANT To do so, screw in new bolt (6).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, wiring harness for wear indicator to brake caliper
*BA42.10-N-1004-12TS 
26 Connect electrical wiring harness (4) with electrical wiring harness (5) to electrical connector. If installed on affected side of vehicle.  
27 Mount holder (2) onto brake caliper (1). If installed on affected side of vehicle.
IMPORTANT To do so, screw in new bolt (3).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, holder for wiring harness to brake caliper
*BA42.10-N-1007-12TS 
28 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-D-0010TS 
29.1 Deactivate brake pad change mode. Model 907
with code B25 (Electric parking brake)
NOTES
Whilst doing so, do not actuate service brake.
Otherwise, the spindle of the brake caliper (1) will be damaged.

29.2 Fit brake pads on rear axle. Model 907 except code B25 (Electric parking brake)
IMPORTANT For this, depress brake pedal several times until the brake pads contact the brake disks.
Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
 
30 Mount relative rear wheel.   AR40.10-D-1100TS
31 Reset operating counter of electric parking brake using vehicle diagnosis system. Model 907 with code B25 (Electric parking brake)
If the brake caliper (1) was replaced.
 
REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit IMPORTANT To do so, connect vehicle to XENTRY and reset operating counter as follows:

Teach-in processes →
Resetting of 'Electric parking brake' counter.

32 Perform brake test on test stand.
