Activate/Deactivate Pad Change Mode - Ar42.10-D-1710-01TS

Notes on carrying out repair work in the vehicle interior AH68.00-N-0001-01S

Model 907 

with code B25 (Electric parking brake)

Activate pad replacement mode 

  1. Switch electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS) to position "1" (circuit 15R).
  2. Confirm any pending vehicle messages.

    If vehicle messages are displayed.

    IMPORTANT Model 907 with code C6L (Multifunction steering wheel)

    Pending vehicle messages can be confirmed by pressing on the finger navigation pad (2).

    Pending vehicle messages can be confirmed by pressing the "OK" button on the right-hand side of the instrument cluster.

  3. Select "Total distance" in instrument cluster.

    IMPORTANT Model 907 with code C6L (Multifunction steering wheel)

    Swiping from left to right and vice versa on the finger navigation pad (2) enables you to browse through the main menu.

    Swiping from top to bottom and vice versa on the finger navigation pad (2) enables you to scroll through the submenus or lists within the main menu.

    Pressing on the finger navigation pad (2) enables you to confirm the current selection or pending vehicle message.

    IMPORTANT Model 907 except code C6L (Multifunction steering wheel)

    The arrow keys on the left-hand side of the instrument cluster enable you to scroll from top to bottom and vice versa within the main menu.

    Pressing the "OK" button on the right-hand side of the instrument cluster enables you to confirm the current selection or pending vehicle message.

  4. Call up "Workshop" menu.

    IMPORTANT Hold down the "Back" button (1) for 2 s and confirm by pressing on the finger navigation pad (2).

    The "Workshop" menu is opened.

    IMPORTANT Hold down the "Back" button on the right-hand side of the instrument cluster for 2 s and confirm by pressing the "OK" button.

    The "Workshop" menu is opened.

  5. Activate pad replacement mode using corresponding selection option in the "Pad replacement mode" menu.

    The electric parking brake must be released.

    NOTES Do not depress the service brake while "Move to assembly position" is shown.

    Otherwise the spindle of the brake caliper will be damaged.

    IMPORTANT The assembly position is moved to.

  6. Switch electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit to "0" position and keep transmitter key out of transmission range (at least 2 m).

    IMPORTANT This prevents any unintended deactivation of the pad replacement mode.

    Deactivate pad replacement mode 

    NOTES Deactivate brakepad change mode only with brakepads installed and brake calipers installed.

    Otherwise the brake pistons will be pushed out of the brake calipers.

  7. Switch on ignition.
  8. Deactivate brakepad change mode using corresponding selection in "Brakepad change mode" menu.

    IMPORTANT The assembly position is exited.

  9. Exit the "Workshop" menu.

    NOTES When the "Workshop" menu is called up, the "Workshop" menu remains open in the corresponding submenu of the instrument cluster even after the main menu is called up.

    The "Workshop" menu is only finally closed when the ignition is switched off.

    The ignition must be switched off after completing the work.

    This prevents any access by unauthorized persons.

    IMPORTANT Model 907 with code C6L (Multifunction steering wheel)

    Pressing the "Back" button (1) enables you to leave the current menu.

    Holding down the "Back" button (1) for 1 s changes directly to the main menu.

    Holding down the "Back" button on the right-hand side of the instrument cluster for 1 s changes directly to the main menu.
