	Remove
1	Remove hub cover from rear wheel.	If hub cover cannot be removed, ↓ remove rear wheel, remove hub cover and remount rear wheel.

2	Loosen collar nut of rear axle shaft (1).	The vehicle must be standing on its wheels for this.

4	Remove collar nut of rear axle shaft (1).		AR35.30-P-0115-01RQ

5	Remove brake caliper and secure with connected lines on vehicle against falling down.	Model 190 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system)	AR42.10-P-0080RGA

		Do not stretch, crush or kink the brake hoses and brake lines. This leads to damage to the brake hoses and brake lines, and it can impair their function.
6	Release upper transverse control arm from wheel carrier.		AR35.20-P-0121RQ
7.1	Remove tie rod at wheel carrier.	Model 190 except code 201 (Rear axle steering) Model 197

7.2	Remove actuator of rear axle steering.	Model 190 with code 201 (Rear axle steering)	AR46.80-P-0012RG
8.1	Remove torsion bar linkage from wheel carrier.	Model 190	AR32.35-P-3329RG
8.2	Remove torsion bar linkage from lower control arm.	Model 197
9	Remove screws (2) and remove rear axle shaft (1).	Do not move vehicle with removed rear axle shaft (1) on the wheels any longer. Otherwise the wheel bearing may be damaged.
		If the rear axle shaft (1) is firmly seated, ↓ push rear axle shaft (1) out of wheel hub.

	Check
10	Check constant velocity joint and boot for damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace rear axle shaft (1) completely.
11	Check boot and upper ball joint at upper transverse control arm for damage.

	Install
12	Insert rear axle shaft (1) into wheel hub.	Do not damage boots of the rear axle shaft (1).

13	Position and tighten screws (2).

		Replace screw/bolts (2).

14.2	Attach torsion bar linkage to lower control arm.	Model 197

		Do not stretch, crush or kink the brake hoses and brake lines. This leads to damage to the brake hoses and brake lines, and it can impair their function.
		Model 190 The brake line pieces (99) of the brake hoses must not be bent. Replace the affected brake hoses with damaged brake line pieces (99) immediately.
		If brake line piece (99) is damaged, ↓ Replace affected brake hose.

19	Tighten collar nut of rear axle shaft (1).		AR35.30-P-0115-01RQ

		Replace collar nut of rear axle shaft (1).
		The vehicle must be standing on its wheels for this.
		Do not yet secure the collar nut of the rear axle shaft (1) using the caulker.

23	Attach hub cover to rear wheel.
