Check Condition Of Rear Axle And Control Arms - AP35.20-P-3552D

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
  Preparatory tasks     
1 Release parking brake    
REMOVING Remove     
2 Remove center underfloor covering    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.30-P-1001RG
INSPECT Check     
3 Check wheel bearing by firmly pulling, pushing and turning the wheels If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
4 Check rear axle carrier for cracks, deformation and corrosion If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
5 Check inner lower elastomer bearings (1) of lower wishbone control arms (2) for cracks, deformation and wear and check for play by tugging and pressing firmly If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
6 Check inner upper elastomer bearings (3) of upper wishbone control arms (4) for cracks, deformation and wear and check for play by tugging and pressing firmly If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
7 Check tie rod ball joints (6) of tie rods (5) for cracks, deformation and wear as well as for play by firmly tugging and pulling If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
8 Check tie rod ball joint boots (7) for cracks, deformation and wear If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
9 Check outer lower elastomer bearing (8) for cracks, deformation and wear as well as play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
10 Check outer upper elastomer bearing (9) for cracks, deformation and wear as well as play by firmly tugging and pushing If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
11 Check shift rail joints (11) of shift rails (10) for cracks, deformation and wear as well as for play by firmly tugging and pulling If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
12 Check shift rail joint boot (12) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
13 Check linkage for level sensor (13), ball heads and sensor for correct seating, cracks, deformation, corrosion and play Vehicles with level sensors
If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
14 Check inner clamps (14) and outer clamps (15) of drive shaft boots for condition and correct seating If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
15 Check outer drive shaft boots (16) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating. If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
16 Check inner drive shaft boots (17) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating. If there are problems:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
INSTALLING Install     
17 Install underfloor paneling under the rear axle    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.30-P-1001RG
