System Testing: Notes
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See the COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES
article in the GENERAL INFORMATION section before disconnecting battery.
Retrieve codes. See ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under TESTING. Once codes are retrieved, or if there are no codes, go to SYSTEM TEST INDEX TABLE, then perform appropriate SYSTEM TEST. Note that not all SYSTEM TESTS have associated codes. Many SYSTEM TESTS refer to pin numbers on EIC and message center switch connectors. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
