System Test C: No Communication With VIC

  1. Disconnect VIC connector C256. Check voltage at connector terminal No. 9 (Purple wire). Go to next step if battery voltage exists. Go tostep 5) if battery voltage does not exist.
  2. Remove 10-amp fuse No. 26. Check continuity between fuse terminal (purple wire) and ground. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair Purple wire, replace fuse and retest. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Remove 10-amp fuse No. 26. Check voltage at fuse connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If voltage does not exist, repair power feed to fuse panel.
  4. Check continuity between fuse No. 26 terminal (Purple wire) and connector terminal No. 9 (Purple wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace fuse and retest. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Purple wire and retest.
  5. Check continuity between connector C256 terminal No. 10 (Black/Light Blue wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black/Light Blue wire and retest.
  6. Check continuity between connector C255 terminal No. 26 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair data link circuit. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire and retest.
