Removal [07/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT 

    HINT: 

    All bolts and screws relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabetic code in the table below.

  2. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM SETTINGS (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 

    Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [10/2018 - ]

  3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL SWITCH HOUSING 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  4. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [07/2022 - ] 

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 
    1. Disconnect the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH from the area shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL 
    1. Using a molding remover A, disengage the clips and guides to remove the No. 1 instrument side panel as shown in the illustration.

  11. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the claw and guides to disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  12. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT COVER 
    1. Disengage the claws and hook to remove the lower instrument cover as shown in the illustration.

  13. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the screw<D>.

    2. Remove the bolt<G>.
    3. Disengage the clips to remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
    4. Disconnect the connector.

  14. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  15. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  16. REMOVE COOLER THERMISTOR (ROOM TEMPERATURE SENSOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips, claws and guides to remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  18. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 screws<C>.

    2. Disengage the clips, claws and guides to remove the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly as shown in the illustration.
    3. Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    4. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the wire harness.
  19. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL 
    1. for 12.3 Inch Display:
      1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the upper instrument cluster finish panel as shown in the illustration.

      1. Using a moulding remover B, disengage the clips to remove the upper instrument cluster finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  20. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY

  21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL HOLE COVER 
    1. Apply protective tape around the instrument panel hole cover as shown in the illustration.

  23. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  24. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips to remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect each connector.

  25. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  26. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Pull up the front pillar garnish assembly LH to disengage the front pillar garnish clip and clip as shown in the illustration.

      Pull up
    2. Push the release lever and separate the front pillar garnish clip from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

      Push
      NOTE:

      If the front pillar garnish clip has significant damage, replace it with a new one.

    3. When the front pillar garnish clip cannot be removed using your fingers:
      1. While pressing the part shown in the illustration with your finger, move the front pillar garnish clip in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

        Lift in this Direction
      2. While pulling the front pillar garnish clip in the direction indicated by the arrow, push the part shown in the illustration with the end of a screwdriver and remove the front pillar garnish clip.

        NOTE:

        If the front pillar garnish clip has significant damage, replace it with a new one.

    4. Disengage the guides to remove the front pillar garnish assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

    5. Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.
      1. Completely cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag assembly with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish assembly LH is removed.

  27. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the clips, claws and guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  29. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly side.

  30. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both front No. 2 speaker assemblies.

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  31. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a molding remover A, disengage the clips and claws to remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly as shown in the illustration.

  32. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  33. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 clips.

      *a Airbag Connector *b Airbag Bolt
      *c Ground Bolt - -
    2. Remove the 2 bolts<E>, 2 bolts<F> and bolt<H>.
    3. Remove the 4 screws<A> or <B>.
    4. Disconnect the 4 connectors.
    5. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      HINT: 

      Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector:

    6. Disengage the clamps to disconnect the wire harness.
    7. Disengage the guides to remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly as shown in the illustration.
