Install front axle completely

• Raise the front subframe (1) using the special tool  2 219 012  and position it on the body. Make sure that  the installed parts have free movement.
• Feed in the struts (2)  .

• Lift the front subframe using special tools 2 219 012 and 0 495 817 (31 5 251)  and position it on the body.

• Replace screws (1)  to (3)  .

• Tighten the screws (3)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Front subframe on front/center of body
  M12 Replace screws.	Tightening torque	108 Nm

• Tighten the screws (2)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Front axle carrier to body, rear
  M14 Replace screws.	Tightening torque	120 Nm

• Tighten the screws (1)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Front subframe to outer body at the rear
  M10 Replace screws.	Tightening torque	56 Nm
  	Angle of rotation	90°

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.
• Position the adapter on the front subframe.
• Tighten down screws (1)  .
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Adapter, front axle support to front axle support
  M8x70	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Lower the special tool 0 495 817 (31 5 251)  with the special tool 2 219 012 and place it to the side.

  NOTE: Carry out the following step if the output shafts remain installed.
  NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.
• Tighten the screws (1)  .

  Output shaft passage strut to front subframe
  M10x60	Tightening torque	56 Nm

• Feed the return line (1)  for the transmission oil cooler into the holder (2)  in the arrow direction and install it.

• Feed the feed line (1)  on the holder (2)  in the arrow direction and install it.
