Removal [02/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [10/2017 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2021 - ]

  2. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [10/2017 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [12/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and purge valve (purge VSV) from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
  4. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [10/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [12/2021 - ]

  5. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [10/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [12/2021 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [10/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [12/2021 - ]

  7. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [10/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17 [12/2021 - ]

  8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [10/2017 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [12/2021 - ]

  9. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the engine oil level dipstick.
    2. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
  10. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [10/2017 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [12/2017 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [12/2021 - ]

  11. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [10/2017 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [12/2017 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [12/2021 - ]

  12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [02/2017 - 10/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2017 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2017 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [12/2021 - ]

  13. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and drive shaft bearing bracket from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE NO. 2 GENERATOR BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 2 generator bracket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts, No. 3 water by-pass pipe and gasket.

  16. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  17. REMOVE PCV HOSE 
    1. Remove the PCV hose from the PCV valve sub-assembly.
  18. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the water inlet housing

  19. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the clamp and water by-pass hose.

  20. REMOVE WATER INLET HOSE 
    1. Slide the 2 clips and remove the water inlet hose.

  21. REMOVE WATER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  22. REMOVE THERMOSTAT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  23. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [02/2017 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2020 - ]

  24. REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM PUMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts, No. 1 vacuum pump bracket and gasket.

  25. REMOVE ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  26. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly clockwise and remove the 5 mm bi-hexagon wrench that was used to secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly when removing the V-ribbed belt.
    2. Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly slightly clockwise and secure it using a 3 mm bi-hexagon wrench as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      It is difficult to install the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly when it is fully extended. When reusing the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly, compress and secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly before removing it.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly from the engine assembly.

  27. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.
