Removal [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE RADIATOR PIPE CLAMP

      Remove the bolt and radiator pipe clamp from the camshaft housing sub-assembly LH.

  2. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the engine oil level dipstick from the engine oil level dipstick guide.
    2. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide from the camshaft housing sub-assembly LH and oil pan sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the engine oil level dipstick guide O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE COMPRESSOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE NO. 4 CYLINDER BLOCK INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the No. 4 cylinder block insulator.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 compressor mounting bracket.

  7. REMOVE NO. 5 CYLINDER BLOCK INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the No. 5 cylinder block insulator.

  8. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  9. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY GASKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  11. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 SURGE TANK STAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  13. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  14. REMOVE AIR SURGE TANK TO INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  15. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER 
    1. Remove the No. 1 engine cover from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

  17. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE

      Slide the clip and remove the ventilation hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

  18. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the water by-pass hose assembly from the water inlet pipe.

  20. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the water inlet pipe.

  21. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the water outlet.

  22. REMOVE NO. 6 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Slide the clip and remove the No. 6 water by-pass hose from the water outlet.

  23. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  24. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket from the No. 2 engine mounting stay RH.

      Remove the bolt and No. 2 engine mounting stay RH from the intake manifold.

  25. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  26. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 22

  27. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (for Direct Injection) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

  28. REMOVE KNOCK CONTROL SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  29. REMOVE SENSOR WIRE 
    1. Disengage the 2 clamps and remove the bolt and sensor wire.

  30. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  31. REMOVE WATER PUMP PULLEY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  32. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the camshaft housing sub-assembly.
