Removal [10/2014 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 

    See step  1

  2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  3. REMOVE FRONT OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. DISCONNECT HEATER OUTLET WATER HOSE A 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater outlet water hose A.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the heater outlet water hose A.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  5. DISCONNECT HEATER INLET WATER HOSE 
    1. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater inlet water hose.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the heater inlet water hose.
      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.
  6. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and rotate the hook connector.

    2. Disconnect the suction hose sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the suction hose sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  7. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the air conditioner tube and accessory assembly.
      NOTE:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  9. REMOVE AUDIO AMPLIFIER COVER (w/ Front Center Speaker) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Front Center Speaker) 

    for 9 Speakers: (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 )

    for 11 Speakers: (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 )

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE AUDIO AMPLIFIER COVER (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  13. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) WITH BACK-UP BATTERY (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  15. REMOVE STEERING POST ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] )

  16. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  17. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  18. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY (w/ Rain Sensor) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  19. REMOVE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU (w/ Pre-collision System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  20. REMOVE GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR ECU (w/ Glass Breakage Sensor) 

    w/o Remote Engine Starter System: (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 )

  21. REMOVE GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR ECU WITH REMOTE ENGINE STARTER ECU (w/ Glass Breakage Sensor) 

    w/ Remote Engine Starter System: (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 )

  22. REMOVE REMOTE ENGINE STARTER ECU WITH BRACKET (w/ Remote Engine Starter System) 

    w/o Glass Breakage Sensor: (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 )

  23. REMOVE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) (w/o ECU Integration Box RH) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  24. REMOVE ECU INTEGRATION BOX RH (w/ ECU Integration Box RH) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  25. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  5

  26. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET HOOK 
    1. Disengage the 6 guides.

    2. Disengage the 6 clamps and remove the 6 floor carpet hooks.

    2. Disengage the hook fastener and 3 fasteners, and remove the front floor carpet LH.
  28. REMOVE REAR AIR DUCT GUIDE LH

  33. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear No. 2 air duct.

  34. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the 2 clips and floor carpet bracket RH.

  35. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT 
    1. Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.

  36. REMOVE COOLER (ROOM TEMP. SENSOR) THERMISTOR 
    1. Disconnect the connector and aspirator, and remove the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.

  37. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

    3. Remove the bolt, screw, 2 nuts and No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.

  38. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.

  39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD CAP 
    1. Put protective tape around the 5 instrument panel safety pad caps.

    2. Using a screwdriver, remove the 5 instrument panel safety pad caps.
  40. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONING UNIT 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to support the air conditioning unit assembly when removing it because failure to do so may cause the bracket of the air conditioning unit assembly to break.
    • When disassembling the air conditioning unit assembly, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.
    1. w/ Front Center Speaker:
      1. Disengage each clamp.

      1. Disengage the clamp.

    3. Disengage the 3 claws to open the 3 clamps as shown in the illustration.

    4. Disconnect the connector from the airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Disconnect each connector.
    6. Disengage each clamp.
    7. Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to unlock the retainer as shown in the illustration.

    8. Disengage the claw and disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector as shown in the illustration.

    9. Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the 3 earth wires.

    10. Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the connector holder.
    11. Disconnect the connector.
    12. Disengage each clamp.
    13. Remove the 2 hole plugs.

    16. Remove the 6 bolts and nut as shown in the illustration.
    17. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with air conditioning unit as shown in the illustration.

  41. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and air conditioning unit assembly from the instrument panel reinforcement assembly.
